Hello, my dear hivers! How have you been? Is life treating you well? Are you able to do things you love doing rather than saying I will do it later, and ending up procrastinating?
This is what I realize these days, life's too precious to waste.
We, the people of northern cebu after experiencing the 6.9 earthquake and has been experiencing thousands of aftershocks, have now experienced another natural disaster. A signal number 4, typhoon Tino. Before the disaster arrived, lots of rumors on social media saying the typhoon wouldn't be strong and people are just being panicky.
However, amidst those online rumors we choose to put our trust in the Lord and Mama Mary, praying that they will guide us in this another disaster thrown our way. It wasn't easy to live with constant fear, since we just experienced a strong earthquake a month ago.

This is my family, we always pray for the evening rosary together. Some of us might just stand since there are no available seats but that didn't bother us, what matters is we pray and put our trust in God.
After praying we then head to our temporary bed, at the back of the car. It can fit 3 people but it is uncomfortable to rest there because you cannot move freely or enough. So preferably, at least two people.
That night, there were three of us sleeping inside but that was okay since it was only for one night due to the incoming typhoon.
According to a reliable source online, it says that the typhoon will landfall at northern cebu at 5:00 am. However, when 3:00 am comes we were already feeling strong winds and heavy rain. The car wasn't working and we were only using it for resting. That's why our parents woke us up and told us to evacuate to another vehicle which is the multicab.
We went there despite the uncomfortable feeling and afraid, praying that we would arrive safely. And thankfully, we did.
When we got inside, we then positioned ourselves and had a short nap.

When 5:28 am comes, the rain and strong winds stopped so it gives us the chance to go outside, look for the damages especially to check if the roofs of the houses were blown away by the wind. Thankfully, they werent. While some of us went outside to check the belongings, others were busy grabbing a glass and some coffee.

As for me, I didn't drink milk or coffee since I have a toothache this time. My uncle even offered a gallon of biscuits but I didn't take any since I am not that hungry and was craving something.

I mentioned earlier that the typhoon will landfall at 5:00 am but that really surprised us why everything was back to normal at 5:00 am. We thought it was over, but at 6:00 am, everything came back and the wind blew from the opposite direction, almost like a clockwise spin. This time, the wind becomes stronger and heavy rain comes falling in which forces us to come inside the vehicle and just observe things.
The damages this time are starting to show and just from where we sat, we could already see our neighbors roof starting to detach. It's worrying to see this but thankful that my neighbors just stayed at the front of their house and didn't go to the back of their house.
It's terrifying to actually experience this kind of strong typhoon though TINO wasn't as strong as Yolanda but it could still damage houses and could cause landslides in some places here in cebu city.
I experienced the super typhoon Yolanda before. The fear I felt back then came rushing back while going through Typhoon Tino.
Life is truly unpredictable and when nature does its part, all we can do is PRAY.

After the typhoon, we had no internet connection, no data or wi-Fi signal and no electricity. There was still a lot of schoolwork to do since our research defense was fast approaching and major exams were piling up that needed to be reviewed. I couldn't open the laptop because I was worried it might run out of battery and there would be no place to charge it.
But honestly, this time. What bothers me more were the people in Cebu City, who experienced floods and massive landslides. Many of their houses were damaged and mud covered their belongings.
This is what I want to remind y'all. Be thankful for what you have, do things and use your time wisely rather than wasting it. Do better and find things that make you productive.
Life is indeed unpredictable especially when it comes to natural disaster. All we can do right now is to cherish the time and comfort we have in the moment and choose to spend our time wiser and meaningfully.
That is all for today's blog, my dear hivers ! I am so thankful for having this platform where I could share my experiences and thoughts.
God bless us all!!
Amidst the bad experiences we face in life, let's always look on the good side of see what lessons these moments are trying to teach us.
Everything happens for a reason . So let's find that reason and from it learn a LESSON.
We keep entrusting everything to the Lord. For He only knows what's His plan in us. It is but a sad news knowing that you're previously hit by the quake and now there's another calamity happened.
Let just rest everything to the Lord I know everything happened with a purpose..
That’s so true. Thank you for the reminder ! We might be facing challenges , but I know God is still in control. Everything happens for a reason, and He will turn it into something good.
