Laughs Over Spices

Good day, Hivers! @itsmemic back again to share another story from my day. This time, it’s about a simple yet memorable dinner experience in Bogo City.

After Duty: A Quick Decision

After finishing my duty, hunger felt, and we decided to have dinner nearby in Bogo City. The best part? It’s just a short walk from the school campus. My friend joined me, so we went together to Kuchefnero.ph, a place I’ve been to before and enjoyed.

I was excited to revisit this spot because I missed their Humbatatim with Rice, priced at an affordable ₱79. The price hasn’t changed since my last visit! This time, I noticed they had new dishes on the menu, such as:

  • Siomai with Java Rice
  • Chicken and Rice with Buffalo Hot Sauce
  • Chicken and Rice with Barbecue Sauce

All the prices are displayed at the front, making it easy for customers to decide.

My Friend’s Spicy Adventure

My friend ordered the Chicken and Rice with Buffalo Hot Sauce, even though I know she’s not a fan of overly spicy food. I even asked her twice, “Are you sure you want the buffalo hot sauce?” "Yes, that’s what I want." So, after we ordered, we waited at our table for our food.

Their food service is fast—less than 10 minutes—and when they serve the food, it’s really hot and delicious. A few minutes later, I noticed my friend coughing repeatedly, and it was obvious that she was struggling with the spiciness of her food. But she kept telling me she was fine and could handle the heat. I asked for a sample to make sure it was spicy, and wow, it was! I couldn't stop laughing at her acting like she was fine. Feeling bad, I offered to share my meal with her and told her not to finish hers since we didn’t have milk to ease the heat.

A Quick Stop for Milk

As we were heading home, my friend complained that the spiciness had stuck to her throat and felt unbearable. I remembered a small store nearby that sold food and drinks, so I suggested we stop there to buy milk. She looked so relieved when I said this—tears were even forming in her eyes from the heat!

Luckily, the store was open, and they had milk available. She drank it immediately and said it helped lessen the spiciness. I teased her, “That’s why I asked you twice earlier—you couldn’t handle it!” We both laughed at the situation.

A Cozy Ending

We sat by the side of the store to rest. The place was lovely, surrounded by trees and plants, with beautiful lights that added to the ambiance.

There was even a karaoke machine in front of the store! My friend joked, “I never expected to be drinking milk here, in front of a karaoke machine!” and we laughed again.

This simple dinner turned into a fun and memorable experience filled with laughter and unexpected moments. Sometimes, it’s the little things—like sharing food or finding relief in a glass of milk—that make the best memories.

And that’s all for this blog, my dear Hivers! Thank you for reading, and I hope you enjoyed!
