✨ Day 2/365: Starting the Year Clean and Happy ✨

Hello, my dear Hivers! It’s me again, @itsmejustine, your college blogger from Cebu.

After a long New Year celebration, of course we did a general cleaning to get rid of the mess—washing the dishes and cleaning everything so the house would be neat and tidy.

I was very energetic while cleaning because each of us had our own assigned tasks. On January 1, we promised our mother that we would do a general cleaning on January 2 so we could start the year with a fresh and pleasant home. And yes, we really did what we agreed on.

I was assigned to clean the plates, dry them, and arrange them in the proper place. I didn’t feel exhausted because I actually enjoyed what I was doing. I even ended up singing while cleaning. Every time I have something to do, I always sing—even if I don’t really know the song at first. I was just so inspired while cleaning and arranging the plates.

My mother, on the other hand, was assigned to wash the clothes, as she said she would handle the laundry. It wasn’t difficult because we don’t have many clothes to wash since we do our laundry every day. It was mostly just our T-shirts and shorts, and they weren’t that dirty—just sweaty. My brother was very kind because he fetched water for us so my mother wouldn’t need to go far just to do the laundry.

After washing and cleaning the plates, I then arranged our shoes. Since my father is a carpenter, we didn’t need to buy a shoe rack because he made one himself. It was well-made and sturdy because he used marine plywood to make it strong.

My father also did his part by feeding his chickens. They’re like his second children—he even gives them vitamins. He really takes good care of them. If there are visitors and the chickens are already big, he sometimes cooks one. When my father goes back to work, my mother will be the one to feed the chickens.

Since we got hungry after all the work, my brother cooked some snacks—banana chips. He said it’s his favorite, and he has really developed a love for cooking anything as long as he gets to cook something.

Well yeah, that’s it for today, guys! I hope you’re all doing well. Thanks for reading, guys. Don’t forget to react, comment, and reblog. Love you all! 🫶🫶🫶🫶

Wow! It's nice to see you and your sibling helping in cleaning the house. This is really heartwarming. It's rare to see those kinds of behavior of children to their parents right now. Most of the children in this generation are just sitting or playing with their gadgets while their parents are cleaning or cooking for their own food. I salute you because you did a great job! You're parents really taught you well, I'm sure they are happy na masunurin kayong mga anak nila. Continue to respect and help your parents even in a small ways, that means a lot to them. 🤗 Happy New year!
