Change isn't always Internal.gif

#I am sorry to burst your bubble, but internal change isn’t always the solution of your problem.

Yes, I would never dare to take it back even if you get mad at me. However, I am also challenging you that before you raise that well-shaped eyebrows on me, try to finish reading this article first. And when I say finish, I am requesting you to read it word by word and not just skim or scan it.

We are always told that change starts within us. That if we want to change the world, we should start within ourselves first. Internal change is what matters more, blah blah blah, so on and so forth. But nobody talks about the importance and role of the external factors that will affect or contributes to that internal change that they are always blabbering about.

Please take note that I am not against internal change, motivation of self-improvement and alike. I just want to clarify and emphasize that external change is also as important and invaluable as internal change.

I am a believer of the quote that change starts within us. That is true and I have nothing against about that. However, if we will be talking about the changes that we want to happen in our lives, achieving our goals, or stopping or starting a habit, we have to pay attention also to the external side.

I’ve read this concept from the book of Atomic Habits by James Clear and it really changes my perspective in a different and wider way. This book talks about changing or breaking bad habits into new and good ones to achieve the growth that every person is aiming for. Therefore, if you haven’t read this yet, you can purchase it in Shopee at a very affordable price through this link https://invle.co/clcw9w9 .

Back to what I am saying, external factors will affect the kind of changes that we want to happen inside of us. To understand it better, allow me to used my experienced as an example to this one.

I am reading this book for a while now and it really shaped me to be the best version of myself. Anyway, when the author tackled about the importance and essentiality of the external side, I immediately followed his advice and saw how may life have changed in a very beautiful and positive way.

I’ve been struggling to keep my consumption of water since I always feel lazy to get some in the kitchen. That would result me to suffer from headache because of dehydration or lack of water in my body. I’ve been wanting to change this habit or trait and so, I constantly listen to a motivational video or anything related to changes but ended up doing the same thing over and over again.

However, right after I read the book, I decided to start in the external side which is changing my environment suitable to my goal. I’ve put tumbler or bottle of water in every corner of the house. Anywhere visible and easy access. After doing that, I’ve noticed myself drinking more water than my usual consumption. And that is not because I am thirsty or what, it’s the location and availability of the water that me want to have it. People tend to buy or get things when they constantly see it or visible to their eyes.

If you wanted to do some changes in your life, you have to be willing to start with your surroundings. Always remember that you cannot heal in the same place that broke you.

That’s all for today thank you everyone. Wanna know me more? Feel free to visit my account in the following platforms.

There are circumstances that change starts outside and the inside will follow. I think for example, if you are stress because you have many pimples. You start losing confidence. But when you start cleansing and caring your face, the pimples are subsiding. The confidence comes back eventually.

I don't know if this is the change you are referring to. It's just my understanding.

Well, you got it right. What I am trying to imply here is that change doesn't only rely on the outside.

your thoughts really helped me to realize something on my side. yes I agree, we also need to consider external change. Both matters in our development. If we change both at the same time, change really happens.

One of the most helpful changes we can make externally is changing our environment.

Now that you mentioned it, I realized this is true. When I was getting over a heartbreak before, I had to distance myself from the people that reminded me of the thing that hurt me most. I had to let go of some of my friends, stay away from our routine until gradually, I was healed internally.

Yes, your surroundings also need to be cleansed before you internal change can happen.

You just hit my point. thank you for sharing your experience

Still, the idea of putting tumblers on the surrounding comes from the mind so it's internal. Charot hahaha

Well, you have a point sissy. However, what I am trying to imply here is the importance of changing our environment as well, to fully achieve the change internally.

Indeed. Sometimes letting yourself away from a place or person is a right choice.

Exactly sissy. Thank you for being around
