Hello there, my lovely Hivers! How are you all today? I hope you’re all doing great. For today’s blog, I want to share what happened in my day.

We had an coastal clean-up drive for our cwts at Bagsakan. This was for our finals grade. The call time was 5:00 AM and finished at 7:00 AM. This is the second time we’ve done a clean-up drive the first clean up drive is at the cemetery which i shared also in my last2 blog..

At first, I was excited because the location was near at the sea but when we got closer to the area where we need to clean , it didn’t look good and the smell is so bad. The water was black, and theres a lof of trash.

Some of my classmates go into the mangroves to clean up. The only way to get there was by walking on wooden planks. so i didnt go to mangroves because i was so scared walking at the wooden planks.

Only first-year students joined the clean-up drive because it’s part of our CWTS subject, which is also 50% of our final grade. Even though the call time was so early, I still went. The assembly was at school, but since I was late, I went straight to the venue.

I admire my classmates who went into the mangroves, even though it smelled so bad. They wanted to help nature.

Before we started, we were told to bring PPEs like (gloves, face masks, and boots) to keep us safe. It was important to follow these instructions to stay safe while cleaning.

Some students was cleaning at the sea. I could see the bayanihan spirit as everyone worked together to clean the place. Since we worked in pairs, it wasn’t too tiring. I am so happy helping the community even in a small act.

The weather was nice , but the smell near the mangroves was very strong it smells so stinky. That’s why we wore gloves and masks for protection.

My classmates picked up a lot of trash that had been there for a long time. There were plastics, glass, cartons, and other things mixed together. It was hard to clean up.

This coastal clean up drive taught me something important, small actions matter. If one person throws even a single piece of plastic, and others do the same, it adds up and creates a big problem. That’s why we need to throw our trash properly.

This experience opened my eyes. We should all try to be role models and inspire others to care for the environment. Cleaning up helps everyone. Every time you see trash, throw it in the right bin.
