Extending our Hands Closer to the Community | An Outreach Program

in Hive PH9 months ago

Hello everyone 👋. How's your first month of the year going? As for me, we are kicking off with activities lined up.

Our first activity for this month is the Community Outreach Program. We are going to extend our service closer to the community. We would like to extend our hands to the community, and also to have a harmonious relationship with the people in the community. This aims to let the people know that Police Officers are not only here to fight criminals, and prevent crimes but also to secure the community and help them with all that they can. Our heroes are also willing to share in their little ways with the community.

We will be having a feeding program for the children of this community. We arrived early at the venue to prepare the things needed. We started to cook lugaw with the help of the locals. They accommodated us with a warm welcome, so we could do our tasks easily with their help.

As some of our co-workers arrived, we displayed a tarpaulin so that the people were aware of the activities that we were doing. We will do a feeding program, free haircuts, distribution of vitamins and slippers to children, and a symposium for the parents.

We were thinking about how to display our slippers, but then @loverboy40 suddenly thought to make a heart shape of the slippers. So, we started to form the slippers into the heart shape.

Porridge is ready to serve the people in the community.

We started the program by singing the National Anthem. We let the participants especially the kids sing the National Anthem.

The next part of the program was a Bible Reflection conducted by one of our pastors. He shared biblical verses and prayed over all that was in the area.

Slowly our colleagues started distributing the porridge to the people in the venue. The children were so excited that they didn't even care if it was hot. Well, don't worry we provided spoons for them too.

The other half of our group started giving slippers to the children. The children rushed into the heart-shaped slippers and grabbed their sizes. Some exchanged with others which would fit their size. To be honest, we cannot cater to all of them, and the sizes are fixed for some age bracket, but as we all know, the size and the age of the children nowadays are very different, (if you know what I mean).

then I saw these lovely girls continue chatting while eating their lugaw and at the same time securing their new pair of slippers.

At the other side of the venue, @loverboy40 started the free haircut for the boys. Those who have long hair and want to be bald (not all). They also made a haircut style that they wanted. Some boys started to fall in line.

While the other group was busy, our MAC Chairman started to explain to the parents regarding the vitamins that we would be giving. He emphasizes the age bracket of who can take those vitamins, the dosages, and when to take the vitamins. Right after, the members of MAC started to distribute to the right child the vitamins.

Our Policewoman on the other hand also started the distribution of writing pads to the children who haven't received a vitamin because they don't belong to the age group for certain vitamins. We can see the excitement of the kids, waiting to receive their writing pads. They were even peeking on which one they would receive 😊.

We also created some games for the children. All thanks to @iamcheerfellll, who became the host of the games without notice. She was very willing to help us even though it was an impromptu. She immediately thinks of what games to do.

The funniest game that we made and for sure made all the people in the venue was the longest line. Even the mothers came in to help their kids. The kids also remove their clothes just to have the longest line. Sure everyone had fun in this activity.

Then we end our outreach program with a thank you message from the children in the community. We are glad we could help even in a little way. Then our Chief extended his gratitude to the people who helped to make this event, especially to the donors and sponsors.

And it's a wrap. A fruitful and productive community outreach program for all of us.

Thank you mam @lovinglymers, I hope in this little way of ours people, especially the children will not think of a terror criminal fighter but also as their friend whom they can trust.

Thank you PNP Tabogon for the initiative to reach out to the community and giving out the essential such as the slippers and vitamins that is commonly neglected. It warms my heart to see the genuine smile the kids as they enjoy the games. Hope to see more of this kind of blog! 😍

Hopefully, we could reach to the remote areas of our municipality.

Participating in the Community Outreach Program was a fulfilling experience for our team. It's heartening to see our police force reaching out to the community, fostering a harmonious relationship beyond law enforcement. The feeding program for children was a wonderful initiative, and the warm welcome from the locals made our tasks smoother. From the National Anthem to the Bible Reflection, the program was well-rounded, incorporating meaningful activities. Special thanks to @iamcheerfellll for spontaneously hosting games. Kudos to all who contributed, including donors and sponsors – your support made a positive impact on the community!
