GOALS 101 | "Establishing A Small Business!"

Mark Zuckerberg, a well-known American internet entrepreneur and the Chief Executive Officer of Facebook, once said:

" ... The biggest risk is not taking any risk."

Upon aiming for greatest things, an individual must learn on how to take risks. If he decided to push through, rest assured that success will be inhibited regardless of its phase. But, if not? That person's chances to grow will slowly be reduced.

Despite of being an achiever and a goal-centered lady, I also have flaws including the fear of taking risks regarding to business.

Truthfully, I have a lots of business ideas which surely have capabilities to succeed. May it be regarding to food businesss and other essentials. Hence, did I already attain progress using those ideas? To answer it, NOT YET. Why? I let the fear of taking risk to kick in to my whole system.

As a brand new year is about to come, I will attempt to attain business-related progresses. One more time!

One of my many goals for 2023 is to improve and widen up my current small business at home. And so, I finally came up with a decision to strengthen the eagerness for business ventures.

• Around September 2022, I started to sell varieties of essential things like face masks, school supplies and liquid dishwashing detergent.

From these three items, I only have sales for face masks. The school supplies and detergent that I purchased to resell? No one buys it, instead we only used it for personal consumption.

Gearing up to accumulate higher sales, I bought a new batch of different varieties of face masks funded by my allowance as City Scholar.

• A new business: "Perfume Decant Business!"

One of my godfather's Mom came home from Dubai to have a short vacation here in the Philippines. As a Christmas gift, she personally gave this authentic Victoria's Secret perfume. And, the scent of "Magnetic" immediately catches my nostrils. It's so fruity, so me!

Personally, I ain't too fond of using perfumes or colognes. In fact, I can go out without it. Why? My skin lotion already smells like perfume. So instead of stocking it for a long duration, I opted to push through one of my business ideas which is to sell "perfume decants."

In putting up this small business, I need a few things such as:

1. Perfume;
2. Decant bottles (plastic or glass);
3. Decant sleeves with adhessive plastics and sticker labels;
4. Cosmetic funnel and diffuser funnel;
5. Perfume dispenser syringe with adapter.

Since I already have a perfume for the initial batch, I only need to purchase important materials such as items 2-5.

• Customized sticker labels for decants.

By the afternoon of Monday (26th of December), I then ordered 20-pieces of customized sticker labels from a trusted shop in Shopee for 5 pesos each. After 3-days, the item was finally delivered and I am so satisfied at it:

• 10 millimeters (mL) decant bottles.

Instead of glass bottles, I opted to order slim plastic bottles as it is more convenient and has lesser prone of breaking.

Had ordered 10-pieces amounting to PhP 84.00 ($1.51), excluding the shipping fee. Once that it was delivered, I will immediately proceed to the actual processing of my products then will offer it to my preferred market.

• Decant sleeves with adhesive plastics.

In order to make my product more eye-catching, I had chosen sleeves with aesthetic and minimalistic design.

• Before ordering funnels and perfume syringe online, I will first try to look at the physical stored in the town proper.

CLOSING THOUGHTS

Putting up a business, may it be a small-scale or large-scale (macro or micro), isn't as easy as counting 1-2-3- or singing the alphabet. Aside from the financial capital, it also requires other things and traits. Including deep understanding to business, determination and passion, and willingness to take risks.

This journey that I am about to take will surely take time and must surpass obstacles before it attain growth. Thus, I am now willing to take the lead. 🐚
