Surviving and Thriving: A Newbie's Self-Introduction

Ozz! Newbie-hive comer is hereeeee! Nice to meet you, guys. I am Dexther. You can just call me Dex. First and foremost, I just want to say that it's such a pleasure to be here with you on this platform. By the way, I'm 22 years old and I graduated from the University of Cebu - Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue (UCLM) with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Major in Financial Management. I am the eldest among the siblings. I have two younger brothers. Yes, we're all boys. I come from a humble family. Life is getting really hard as I age. Many things have happened that almost made me give up, but gladly I didn't. I just want the best for my loved ones. That is why I did my best to get a degree, as I believe it's my first key to building a hopeful future. No one would like to die poor.

Now, let's jump off to the core. What my passions in life are, same as what adults are. As a young adult, my work is my passion. I gained a lot from it, such as earning skills and companions. I gained a lot in my passion about the peak of work and earning a little as a part-timer, as well as learning new stuff in the industry. During my studies, I was a working student in a big fast food chain here in Cebu, Philippines.

Well, it is not just all pure positivity. I also gained some life lessons that keep me on track. Humiliations, dissatisfactions, disappointments, and frustrations—surely, these are not the things that hold me back, but these are the things that fuel me up to keep grinding every single day. I realized how hard it is to study and work at the same time. Study in the morning, and then rush to work after class. Sometimes I have no sleep for the whole day or just sleep for 2-3 hours, especially when I have my internship. I'm just so proud and thankful for myself for enduring everything.

I studied at a university and supported myself financially. I worked for my basic needs, school allowances, tuition, and all. Yes, I can say that I'm really independent, but it's not easy. That's why I say that work is a passion. Why? Well, it helps me learn in real life, gain access to what is behind the curtains in a fast-paced environment, adapt to the pacing of life, create good relations within the work area, and develop skills that I can be proud of. This is not just life lessons or whatever. This is a share of experience that we should be proud of—what we have been through or where we have been in life.

Leaving the life of being happy throughout those teen years into long-term life skills. We will all definitely experience this and it must be the hardest yet the best transition of our respective lives. This is not a competition nor a race, and it will definitely not be a hindrance. This is life, and we will have our own ways, and yours may be next, so... stand proud; you're in pace.

I am here in Hive to settle my lifelong challenge to myself of at least sharing some sprinkles of what my situations in life have been recently. Enter a new platform media with some similarities and differences from the platforms and applications we've been used to. This also benefits me as this platform can have different content that I could read and enjoy. I would love to read history content, horrors, sports or esports, movies, people's small and big accomplishments, as well as personal blogs. All these things excite me, and hopefully we can build strong connections with each other. I'm looking forward to making some content related to my passions and interests. I'll be happy seeing posts of other people's lives, such as life lessons, little to big winnings, and life-encouraging people. In addition to such histories, mind-blowing structures, unusual sites, and dazzling behind-the-scenes stories of any mysteries of places and their origins.

I just want to share too that I didn't know what Hive was before. I just heard about it from my friends. Before I end my introduction, I would like to personally thank Ms. @jeannmazing for the welcoming atmosphere she presented during orientation, up to this time answering never-ending questions from a newbie like me, and assisting me in this introduction publication. I learned so much. Thanks to Ms. @jeannmazing for the overwhelming support, the help you provide, and the chance you have given us to know more about Hive. There are no words to spout, just keep grinding on your kind service and life. I can tell how passionate you are about Hive. I'm really thankful for everyone behind the OCD onboarding program too.


Well, I am just so happy to know about this Hive blockchain. I never knew this even existed. But now, I am part of this virtual community. I hope I will learn more from here in all aspects of life.
