Remembering my Father on His 73rd Birthday on All Saint's Day

"Life comes from the earth and life returns to the earth."

Hello, how are you my dear friend in hive? Here in our country, it's already 2 days after the SK and Barangay Election. As one teacher who served during that significant day in the history of our country, I got tired. So I'm just at home for now and had my rest day. When Facebook, reminded me of my video post last 2021 which was about the fabulous birthday celebration of my father during his 71st birthday, I recalled how happy we were on that day, and we plan to have it now again. To prepare Lechon, cake and cook different menus, and have our family gatherings. Now that my father is gone how can we celebrate this occasion without him? I cried, I even cried out loud. I miss my father.

When I went to my mother's house I saw them cooking rice cake. It's my father's favorite. Then I went to the kitchen, I saw my brother-in-law cooking paklay too, another favorite of my father. My heart is aching. I recalled everything, especially on this day. To relieve everything In my heart and mind, I got my cellphone and I wrote.

Today we celebrate All Saints Day, November 1. This is one of the most significant days in my life since this is not just All Saints or Souls Day but it's my father's birthday. This year is the first year of our celebration without my father. It's so painful to lose our loved one. But we must accept the fact that no one on Earth will stay forever. Life must go on. So our celebration continues. We prepared rice cake,kakanin, and my father's favorite dishes.

Reflection

We shall all perish in this world. Once we are born, we also die. Life is just like the process of breathing, when we inhale we are alive and when we exhale we are dying. So, it must be a continuous process to continue living. Nothing on this planet will endure eternally. This life is merely a borrowed one. Therefore, let's try to live life to the fullest. Give thanks that we are still alive because many have already passed away. Please make the most of your time here on Earth, since being forgotten after you pass away makes it seem like you never existed. Fulfill your role on this planet. Be kind, productive, and a source of blessings for everyone. When time is gone, it can never be regained and recovered. Create positive memories instead of sad ones. Share and give to your family with love and care so that there will be no regrets when they are gone from your sight.

Message to my Father

To my father, maybe you're not perfect, but you gave your best for us. I am grateful that you are my father. I will always treasure our happy memories together. We always loved you, Pa, and we missed you. I hope that you are now in the Lord's right hand watching down on us from above.
