Here comes another unstoppable “End of School Year”, an inevitable farewell!
The perks of being a Grade12- adviser is to witness your students final laughter and tears in their Senior High Years. Though I’ve trained myself to brace of this scenarios (students come and go) yearly but I couldn’t just resists the bond and friendships that we established, making me sob heavily during their graduation ceremony. You might say that’s too OA (overacting). But yes I wanna embrace the role for the last time that I saw these students whom I considered my second children in the recent school year. I couldn’t help but cried tears of joy for the success of my students and witness them leave from our classroom nest, ready to soar and reach their dreams and hopes in life. 🥹
But hey, before I get emotional again, this blog is not about the heavy emotions we felt during the graduation but rather the happy moments we shared- our last bonding as “student and teacher” after their graduation last Friday, yet our first bonding as friends.❤️
A beautiful and joyful Saturday in Bagatayam River together with my Grade12 students.
Our class’ GC was in a buzz the night after our graduation. Everyone was so exited for our planned River Outing the next day.
We agreed to meet up in the school and commute going to our destination. I could feel the happy spirits and excitements of my students. I knew that was just the first day that they were apart (after their graduation), but they were already missing each other! Haha!
I was certain, we would be creating one of the memorable weekends in life.
We arrived at the river approximately 2 hours before lunch. Everyone eagerly sprung into action helping each other to prepare our lunch. A group of students were cleaning the fish to be grilled and for our “Kilawin” dish. Others started the fire for grilling while the girls enjoyed their time taking pictures in the beautiful river. They were all jolly!
It was Saturday, making the river filled with crowd who also came for a refreshing swim. The crowd and noise made the river more alive and vibrant!
The laughter and cheers of the people in the river, the gushing of the water and my students happy chitchat served as our background music while cooking! One would surely feel the sheer happiness in the atmosphere at that time.
After cooking the group decided to feast our food there in the river. It means we would literary be dipping our feet on the water while eating. Haha. No tables, no chairs, no utensils, just the flowing river and its rocks as our dining setting. And you know what? We all loved the experience! We were so full as we had our banquet in the river! Haha
Unli swimming!
After we relaxed our satisfied tummies it was time for the real fun : an unlimited dipping and playing in the river!
All of us joyfully dip on the river not minding the time but only enjoying each others company! The students were jumping, laughing, and talking and I was so happy seeing the bond among them!
I’ll surely miss these kids who once entered my room innocent and timid and now blossomed into individuals with strong bond friendship.
We played games. We laughed out loud and savored the moment as if it was our last outing! We almost forgot the time!
And now while writing this, I couldn’t help but put a sweet smile on my face and utter a silent prayer. May God answer my students’ prayer and make them successful in life. And hopefully the next time we will meet again, I will hear different stories, a tales of triumph of their successes in life.💚
Until then my Grade12-Platinum Batch2023-2024! It's not a Goodbye but a See you around!
