My Mom's simple 69th birthday celebration

Hello Everyone. On my mother's 69th birthday last Thursday, I strongly desired to purchase a cake as a celebratory gesture. However, my financial situation presented a significant obstacle, as I needed more funds to make the purchase. This financial challenge has been a persistent struggle for me.
On that day my younger brother Alfred and my father dropped by my workplace to inform me that the celebration would be on the evening.
After concluding my workday, I purchased a 1.5-liter bottle of Sprite soft drink to bring to my mother as a thoughtful gesture.

At approximately 5:30 pm, when we arrived, my mother was still diligently occupied in the kitchen.

Shortly after we arrived at my parents' residence, my mother's sister, who resides nearby, arrived with her husband.
In preparation for the meal, we assist mom in gathering necessary items such as plates, spoons, and a food warmer.
After making all the necessary preparations, we engaged in a prayer session followed by a joyful rendition of "Happy Birthday" to celebrate my mother's special day.

A simple birthday celebration with family and other relatives was held.
After eating we rest for a while before we prepare to go home.
Despite our desire to have a sleepover at my parent's place, we were unprepared as we neglected to bring additional clothing.
We headed back home around 7:30 pm.

I honestly didn’t realize that my mom was already 69 years old. Despite her age, she maintains a youthful appearance. As she grows older, I cannot help but feel a sense of empathy for the burdens she carries. Lately, she has been experiencing stress due to family matters.
