Hi Friends. For a quit long period of days, I was absent here posting blogs. Due to busyness of my schedules as the subject teacher and ICT of my beloved school, now I’m back to share to you my different adventures and happenings in life.
Todays blog is about my job as the NLCA facilitator for the annual online assessment for the grades 7 to 10 with regards to their learnings attained as per the required competency within their grade level.
Friends, this work is quit hassle to conduct but when it comes to role as teacher or role as the designated facilitator, public service, and eagerness to learn too on my behalf while handling students. The National Learning Camp Assessment comprises 3 main subjects – English, Science, and Math and 1 examinee’s descriptive questionnaire (EDQ) which of which each consists of 30 questions. By the way, I cannot force the student to take the online assessment since this assessment is only an annual survey to investigate the level of understanding of the current students who are the most affected pupils during the strike of COVID-19 pandemic.
On the 2nd week of April, I together with the respective advisers of grades 7 and 8, we facilitated up to approximately 90% of the total population and on 3rd week of May, we proceed to facilitating the grade 9 and 10 which is approximately 60% of the total population. Sad to say that even the I who has the access to the administrator accounts of the students cannot tell their scores of the exam. The scores were delivered directly to the national records for reevaluation. And expected in about 3 months, the post is then conducted if the national learning summer camp is effective, correct and relevant.
Flow of the accounts:
First, I download the form 1 from the Learners Information System (LIS) which contains the names, gender and learner reference number (LRN). All these are required for the creation of the different Microsoft 365 accounts of the students.
Secondly, I create a spreadsheet for simple and convenient flow of the records.
Lastly, I check and enroll these accounts to the exam browser. I submit a copy of this to the division records. Whenever everyone is enrolled, I just wait for the division coordinator the send the signal for the administration of the exam.
Assessment:
I open the 27 desktop computers for initial loading of the internet connection. Then I start the exam browser software. Then I call the students to sit in and simultaneously type-in their respective usernames and passwords.
During the encoding, it cannot be denied that some are illiterate of using the mouse and keyboard. So, I was here to the rescue and assist. Some doesn’t know how to type “@” symbols and using Caps lock key. But it’s a good start for them to realize.
In average base on observation, 75% of the examinees are well verse on using computers. It’s an achievement for me and for the school. A total of 7 days is consumed for the conduct of NLCA pretest. I was happy too while watching the them focusing on the exam even though they only have a small glimpse of the topics and lessons ask in the exam.
Thank you everyone for reading till here and thank you to my colleagues who help me in the conduct of such online exam for our beloved students.
Try to add the following tags in your future posts to gain more traction. (Tags on Hive work a bit differently and are not too SEO related, if at all, as they would commonly be on other social networks.)
Also, by using those three tags, you'll be able to earn simultaneously (besides HIVE coin) an additional three (so-called second-layer) tokens — POB, BEE, and ALIVE, without any additional work needed, just by using them.
They are functioning more or less the same as HIVE itself, meaning you may stake them (power-up), delegate them, or simply sell them on the market.
How many of them do you maybe already have, you may see in your Hive-Engine wallet. The wallet may be accessed with the same credentials (passwords/keys) you are using to log in here.

Ganda naman kapag hands on magturo, dapat talaga more practical skils matutunan ng students. And yes, feel ko yung hassle ng pagiging teacher kahit part time instructor lang ako. Kudos to all teachers, thank you for the efforts to educate us all.
