Hello hivers! Allow me to introduce myself again, @amishu, and welcome to my blog!🌷
Please take a moment to read my blog, where you will discover some insightful information and lessons on my next adventure!📔
Stepping into college is like unlocking a door to a world of new experiences and opportunities. It's a time when every day brings something different, whether it's meeting new people, exploring subjects that pique your curiosity, or discovering passions you never knew you had. Join me as we navigate this exciting journey together, where each step forward is a chance to grow, learn, and embrace the adventure that lies ahead.📖
June 3rd was a significant day for my friends and me. It marked the beginning of our new journey into college life at Cebu Institute of Technology - University (CIT-U). We were excited and a bit nervous about what lay ahead. For me, the day was especially challenging because I was still undecided about what course to take.
Deep down, I had always wanted to pursue Nursing. It was a dream I had nurtured since I was in the 10th grade. My mother knew about this and had always supported me. However, my aunts had different plans. They wanted me to take Engineering, believing it to be a more practical and financially stable career choice. When I told them I wasn’t interested in Engineering, they were upset and distant. I understood their concerns since Nursing is not only challenging but also expensive. Despite their worries, my mother kept encouraging me to follow my dream.💭
As we stood in line at CIT-U for enrollment, my aunt and I were still arguing over chat about my course choice. I tried to compromise by suggesting Architecture, my second choice, but she refused. Tired of the back-and-forth and not wanting to disappoint her, I hesitantly agreed to take Engineering. It felt like I was giving up on my dream, but I was ready to accept it to keep the peace.
Just when I thought I had to settle, something unexpected happened. My aunt messaged me, saying that if Nursing was what I really wanted, I should go for it. She reminded me to take care of my health since Nursing is a demanding field. I couldn’t believe my eyes burst into tears of relief and joy. I had prayed for her support, and now it was finally here. I thanked her richly and also expressed my gratitude to my mother and friends for their unwavering support. With renewed determination, I enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.🩺
The enrollment process at CIT-U was straightforward but lengthy. After completing the initial steps, we faced a setback when the office closed at 5 PM. We couldn’t finish our enrollment that day and had to return the next day. Despite this minor inconvenience, my spirits remained high.🫶🏻
On June 4th, we arrived early at CIT-U to complete our enrollment. By 7 AM, we were back in line, determined to finish the process quickly. We paid the down payment of ₱1,000 and received our student portal accounts. This portal would be essential for accessing important information like our study loads and schedules.
With our enrollment finalized, we headed to the Nursing Building to inquire about our uniforms and where to get them.
A few days later, on June 10th, we had an appointment at Michelle Apparel Shop to get our measurements for the Nursing uniforms. We arrived at the shop quickly, thanks to our friend Josephous and his mother for the free ride.
The staff were efficient and friendly, making the fitting process smooth. With our measurements taken, we decided to grab lunch at City Mall before heading back to CIT-U.
At Mix and Match, we chose our meals from various fast-food options. I opted for Jollibee’s chicken with spaghetti, rice, and a drink, while my friends chose dishes from Mang Inasal and Chowking.
After a satisfying meal, we returned to CIT-U to inquire about the Freshmen’s Academic Scholarship (FAS). The staff provided clear instructions, and we decided to apply on the spot. After submitting our applications, we accompanied our friend Marky to buy fabric for his Mechanical Engineering uniform.
Looking back at those hectic but exciting days, I realized how much we had grown even before classes began. From dealing with family expectations to navigating the enrollment process, each step brought its own challenges and rewards. The support of my mother, friends, and eventually my aunt was crucial in helping me pursue my true passion.❤️🔥
Starting college is more than just moving from high school; it’s about finding our path and standing up for what we believe in. My journey to enroll in Nursing taught me the importance of persistence, communication, and the value of having a support system. It also reminded me that while practicality is important, following one’s passion leads to true fulfillment.💕
As we prepare for the academic year, I am filled with anticipation and excitement. This new chapter promises growth, learning, and countless experiences that will shape our futures. I am ready to embrace the challenges of Nursing and look forward to making the most of my time at CIT-U.🏫
