Hi to all Hivers! Have a pleasant day everyone! I am new here in Hive. I'm so excited to share my interest here too and aside from that, I’m so overly thrilled to get to know more everyone here in this community.
ABOUT ME
Hi! I’m Aisa Marie Mancia, 22 years of age. I am a 4th year student in Cebu Technological University taking the course of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major Marketing Management. I come from a broken family. My mother and father were separated when I was still a kid. So, I grew up in the care of my grandmother, which is my mother's side.
I only knew about my father when I was 19 years old. He was the one who reached out to me first. On our first convo, I didn't even know that he was my father, I only addressed him as “Kuya” or “Brother”. As our conversation progressed, he asked a couple of questions that revealed him as my real father. I had an emotional moment during that time but I also felt relieved because for how many years, I finally knew my biological father. I was happy yet I know for a fact that we will never be a complete family again. I have already accepted it, after all, I still have my mom who never failed to show me the love and care that I truly deserved.
I stayed in the province for almost 17 years. When I was in the province, I experienced a lot of hardships but it also comes with a little comfortability. How I would say it's a little comfortable? It is because despite everything, I am still lucky to have provided all my needs and wants. I was never loved deprived and most importantly, I was surrounded by the best people I could ever ask for.
Back then, life in the province was so peaceful and serene. I can attest that I was able to build a strong relationship with the people that have become my family. On most days, I also had the chance to be a part time market vendor. I used to sell in the market during Saturdays and Sundays because during these days, I got the opportunity to earn since it's the weekend, which also means —no class. At first, I did not like this kind of routine because weekends should be my rest days, relaxation time and prolly be a study time. But I had to, I needed money to fund my school projects and other school expenses.
Aside from being a part time market vendor, I also got the opportunity to haul sand and hollow blocks. To be honest, it's super tiring. It's even more challenging when I have to do it in the midst of a scorching heat. Many people would even notice why I am doing this masculine task? My answer would always be, I guess my experience built me and the feminine and masculine energy were built within me. With all of these part time jobs, I've got enough money for my other needs without burdening my grandmother for financial support.
To overcome homesickness, I often visit my mom in the city twice a month. I know it's just a short visit but when I am with her, I always make sure that I make the best out of it. Times like this, my mom would always be generous to a fault. She would give money for my allowance, enough for me and my grandmother to sustain the whole month.
Talking about my Mom, she's really the best. She worked hard to save for capital and start a small business. Our business focuses on selling vegetables in the market. With regard to gaining profit, yes it is still attainable but there are also circumstances that we would fail to achieve our desired sales for the day. Knowing that the products that we are selling are perishable, we really made an effort to sell it on specific days because in some cases, the veggies would start to spoil and we have no choice but to throw it away. With all of these downsides, we are still thankful because our small business helps us survive financially—it’s our main source of income.
To help my mom, after school, I would go straight to the market and take over for her so she can go home early and rest. Lucky for me, I do great on talking and persuading customers to buy since I already had previous experience from the past. The only challenge for me is the competition. We are not just the only vegetable vendor in our area so we are not the only choice of the customers. It's a real challenge but with the right attitude and approach to the customers, I still make a sale.
MY HOBBIES AND INTEREST
One of my hobbies is listening to music. I love to listen to it most especially when I'm alone. It really gives me so much time to relax and just be free. I do listen to different songs, depending on my mood. When I listen, I even sing along, particularly if I can feel the lyrics of the song.
I also love playing badminton. I enjoy playing badminton with my Niece. It is also her favorite and we always get along with this kind of sport. In the present, I got really busy, I have no time to play. But hoping soon, I can dedicate some time to play badminton.
Moreover, I also love travelling. Most especially in the province. I love to surround myself with nature and go to places that would give me peace and relaxation. When travelling, I would love to be accompanied with my family or friends as it makes the experience more extraordinary.
MY REASON FOR JOINING HIVE AND MY CONTRIBUTION TO HIVE
My primary reason to join Hive is to share my passion for writing and be part of the community that shares the same interest that I have. For most of my blogs, you will be expecting contents about my day to day life happenings, travels and food. Ensuring that you all will enjoy and learn while reading. More importantly, as someone who loves to explore a lot of things, you will be seeing more of my shared experience here. I will give you more virtual tours of the places I went to and I'll let you in with my amazing experience.
HOW I GOT TO KNOW HIVE
I only knew about this platform from my dear friend @jeannmazing. She told me about this platform and got so interested to join. With that, I attended the orientation last February 03, 2024 at Workplace Cafe in Parkmall Mandaue City, Cebu. The orientation helps me understand more what the platform is all about and I was amazed how great it is.
The orientation was headed by Sir @intoy.bugoy and Sir @ybanezkim26. Everything was well introduced and all significant details about Hive as well as the OCD onboarding program were clearly discussed. Afterwards, the more I realized that my passion and interest for writing really belong in this community.
That's all I've got today, Hivers! Thank you for reading my Introduction blog. I can't wait to share more of my blogs soon. Until next time!
