Here's my participation in the BeerSaturday 385 hosted by @detlev with a hopped Lager brewed by Nano Cinco in Quebec City in collaboration with Isle de Garde, a Montreal-based brewery. This was the second edition 100% New Zealand hops organized with hop enthusiasts Freestyle Hops.
Here is the map of Quebec where I can show you precisely the location of the brewery. Nano Cinco is located in the popular Limoilou district of Quebec City. The exact address is 236 de la 3ème rue.

Manchot Pygmée (Nano Cinco)
📜 Brewery / Brasserie :
This is the second beer from Nano Cinco presented here after the IPA named Kaiju. As a reminder, the beginning, as is often the case, is the project of 4 great beer lovers and friends Paul Simon, Mathieu Pelletier, Éloi Paradis-Deschênes and William Berton. They brewed for more than 5 years directly at home. In 2022, they finally have their own premises with two brewing systems to make two types of beer at the same time, including one of only 300 liters to continue experimenting. Cool concept, almost every week they come up with something new.

🍺 Tasting / Dégustation :
The Manchot Pygmée (Pygmy Penguin) is a hopped lager with 4.5% alcohol. It has been fermented with a yeast strain from Alsace in France used by the brewery Isle de Garde, supposedly an old strain from Stella Artois. The hops used are Pacifica and Motueka from New Zealand, courtesy of Freestyle Hops. In the glass, the beer has a beautiful, slightly cloudy straw-yellow color, topped by a light, white neck. On the palate, there's an initial lemony taste that gives way to a slightly hoppy finish. I drank it quickly, refreshing, perfect for the weekend 😀.

Design
The Quebec brewery's design features an animal on a plain background, with information about the beer behind it. Here we're treated to a pygmy penguin, the smallest species that weighs 1 kg and lives mainly in New Zealand. This makes the link with the origin of the hops used and the lightness of this beer. Just before buying this beer, I had seen this sticker, surely a sign 😀.
Have a great week. / Très bonne semaine à tous.
Cheers / Santé / Salud 🍻
Undoubtedly a beautiful color, it's so striking that I couldn't restrain myself from commenting on that at first. Collaborations between honest craft breweries usually result in very interesting and rewarding experiments.
Haha that's quite a coincidence about the sticker and the image on the can, which makes a lot of sense by the way, after reading the origin of its components.
Hey haven't you considered using the @Worldmappin map to pin locations like this to your personal map? It's an interesting way to keep track of the breweries you visit.
Yep very interesting collaboration with these beer. Nano Cinco always brews quality beers.
I used @worldmappin but only if I drink the beer directly in the brewery. In this case, I was at home in my kitchen 😀 I love this feature, they do a remarkable job after the end of the @pinmapple.
Have a great day

Merci pour les tokens. Passe un agréable dimanche.
haha sticker has a bit more attitude than this easy drinking beer. I think the pygmy penquin is perfect for this beer with New Zealand hops 👍
Yes, perfect for this beer, this little penguin... With the sticker, when I saw the can, I knew it was the one 😂

Bonne journée à toi
Awesome beer, by the sounds of it! I have yet to drink a good hopped lager here in South Africa. Mostly, we find easy drinking very low hopped lagers - mass market dictating the taste. But this looks fantastic! Thanks for sharing.
This lager is a little more complex than the commercial ones, with a lemony taste enhanced by a hoppy finish. Really interesting... I'm not an expert, so I'm not sure what the Pacifica and Motueka hops bring, especially since the first was added hot and the other cold. What does it bring? I have no idea 😅
