Porters and stout are pretty much the same thing really - maybe just subtle differences between them.

They are kind of bullies to other birds from what I have heard. Yeah, I heard about how porters got their name a long time ago. It was interesting stuff.

I don't know that story. I'll have to look it up
I think it had to do with the burnt remnants of the stout brewing process that they were able to sell to the local porters at the hotels for really cheap so it came to be called porter after them. Something like that.
