Un día de autogestión en el liceo de mi hijo/Operación pupitres (Esp-Eng)

Hola amigos, 👋 ya pensé que no me daría tiempo publicar, pero quería contarles en lo que estuve trabajando este fin de semana junto a otros padres responsables, quienes decidimos trabajar de la mano con el liceo dónde estudia mi hijo y solventar el problema de necesidad de pupitres que vienen presentando.

Estuvimos pensando y buscando varias salidas para solventar esta situación, pero ya no queríamos seguir esperando y pusimos manos a la obra.

Actualmente, en la sección de mi hijo hay 44 estudiantes, así que optamos por pedir una colaboración y comprar los tubos para hacer la estructura de la mesa silla y la dirección del colegio nos facilitaría la madera para forrarlos y nos acompañarían en el trabajo de armado de los pupitres y mesa sillas.

Hi friends, 👋 I thought I would not have time to publish, but I wanted to tell you what I was working on this weekend along with other responsible parents, who decided to work hand in hand with the high school where my son studies and solve the problem of need of desks that they have been presenting.
We were thinking and looking for several ways to solve this situation, but we did not want to wait any longer and we got down to work.
Currently, in my son's section there are 44 students, so we decided to ask for a collaboration and buy the tubes to make the structure of the chair table and the school management would provide us with the wood to cover them and would accompany us in the work of assembling the desks and table chairs.

Pero el resultado fue que solo la mitad de la sección dio el aporte, mientras que los demás se hicieron los desentendidos. Entendemos que el gobierno debe ir solventando esta necesidad, pero nosotros conocemos la realidad de la institución, donde se han abierto secciones nuevas para poder brindar educación a más de 2 mil estudiantes.

Por lo que más que ser parte del problema, decidimos ser parte de la solución y optamos por destinar este fin de semana y con lo que recogimos de colaboración comprar los esqueletos en tubo, mientras que el nuevo director nos facilitó las tablas necesarias y la pintura, así que junto a unas profesoras comenzamos a trabajar en ello.

En mi caso me tocó medir y marcar dónde se iban a abrir los huevos con el taladro, dónde se iban a fijar luego los espaldares de las sillas, la madera del asiento y la mesa, así que estuve midiendo y marcando.

But the result was that only half of the section made a contribution, while the others ignored the situation. We understand that the government should be solving this need, but we know the reality of the institution, where new sections have been opened to provide education to more than 2,000 students.
So rather than being part of the problem, we decided to be part of the solution and decided to allocate this weekend and with what we collected from collaboration to buy the skeletons in tube, while the new director provided us with the necessary boards and paint, so together with some teachers we started to work on it.
In my case I had to measure and mark where the eggs were going to open with the drill, where the backs of the chairs, the wood of the seat and the table were going to be fixed, so I was measuring and marking.

Mientras otro representante venía perforando esos huecos donde yo hice la marca, otras representantes venían colocando las tablas y junto al director la iban fijando con tornillos.

Fue un trabajo de hormiguita y en equipo en el que se vieron resultados rápidos. Después de tener los pupitres armados, las dos profesoras que nos acompañaron iban pintando con barniz las tablas de las mesas sillas, otros iban poniendo a secar en el sol y finalmente los personalizamos, colocándole el nombre del estudiante y la sección, para así evitar que se confundan los pupitres.

Fue un trabajo de todo un día en el que trabajamos de la mano los representantes con el apoyo del personal del liceo y aunque solo éramos 10 personas, logramos garantizarle su asiento a 22 estudiantes, quienes dieron su aporte, esto porque por el aumento de la matrícula escolar, los pupitres se volvieron insuficientes.

It was a team effort in which we saw quick results. After the desks were assembled, the two teachers who accompanied us painted the tables and chairs with varnish, others put them to dry in the sun and finally we personalized them, placing the name of the student and the section, to avoid confusing the desks.
It was a full day's work in which the representatives worked hand in hand with the support of the school staff and although there were only 10 of us, we were able to guarantee a seat for 22 students, who gave their contribution, because due to the increase in school enrollment, the desks became insufficient.

Nos dolió como representantes ver que muchos niños se quedaban sentados en el suelo, mientras que otros debían compartir la silla y la mesa.

Lo peor de todo es que muchos padres, viendo esta situación, no se reportaron de ningún modo. Es como si solo mandaran a su hijo al liceo y ya, no les dan seguimiento, no asisten a las reuniones y pare de contar.
Por suerte, este grupo de representantes me acompañaron y pusimos manos a la obra y logramos resolver la necesidad de pupitres en el salón de mi hijo en el liceo, mientras que los representantes de la escuela, dónde estudia mi otro hijo, más que dar solución, terminan siendo parte del problema, así que esa es otra tarea pendiente.

Fue un fin de semana en movimiento, pero de mucha satisfacción y con la tranquilidad de que mi hijo mañana estará cómodo en su pupitre. Fue un día productivo gracias a Dios.

It hurt us as representatives to see that many children were left sitting on the floor, while others had to share the chair and table.
Worst of all, many parents, seeing this situation, did not report it in any way. It's as if they just send their child to school and that's it, they don't follow up, they don't attend meetings and so on.
Luckily, this group of representatives accompanied me and we got down to work and managed to solve the need for desks in my son's classroom at the high school, while the representatives of the school, where my other son studies, rather than providing a solution, end up being part of the problem, so that is another pending task.
It was a weekend on the move, but with a lot of satisfaction and with the peace of mind that my son will be comfortable in his desk tomorrow. It was a productive day thank God.
