Bienvenida a la universidad- acompáñenme en mi primer día/ Welcome to the university - join me on my first day at the university.

Mi primer día en la universidad fue una experiencia inolvidable, cargada de emociones y sensaciones que difícilmente podré olvidar. A mis 22 años, comienzo esta nueva etapa junto a mi novio, quien también tiene la misma edad. Después de haber pasado cinco años en el mundo laboral, la decisión de regresar a la universidad fue un paso importante, ya que deseábamos actualizar nuestros conocimientos y obtener un título que nos abriera más puertas en el futuro. Aunque algunos de los nuevos ingresos eran mucho más jóvenes que nosotros, incluso la misma edad que mi hermanita, la alegría y convicción de que este es una de las desiciones más importante de nuestras vida me acompañaba.

My first day at the university was an unforgettable experience, full of emotions and sensations that I will never forget. At 22 years old, I am starting this new stage with my boyfriend, who is also the same age. After spending five years in the working world, the decision to return to university was an important step, as we wanted to update our knowledge and obtain a degree that would open more doors for us in the future. Although some of the new entrants were much younger than us, even the same age as my little sister, the joy and conviction that this is one of the most important decisions of our lives accompanied me.

La bienvenida se llevó a cabo en el gimnasio de la universidad, un espacio amplio y techado, donde se habían colocado las sillas plásticas de color blanco una detrás de otra en dos partes con un pasillo a la mitad. A medida que llegaban todos los nuevos estudiantes, el gimnasio se llenó de risas, saludos y un aire de expectativa, al estar rodeados de tantos jóvenes. La ceremonia fue muy informal y sencilla, pero cada detalle estaba destinado a hacernos sentir especiales y parte de una comunidad.

The welcome was held in the university's gymnasium, a large, roofed space, where white plastic chairs had been placed back-to-back in two sections with an aisle in the middle. As all the new students arrived, the gymnasium was filled with laughter, greetings and an air of anticipation, being surrounded by so many young people. The ceremony was very informal and simple, but every detail was meant to make us feel special and part of a community.

Durante la bienvenida, tuvimos la oportunidad de conocer a los decanos y a algunos de los encargados de nuestras respectivas facultades, así como a algunos de los profesores que nos acompañarían en el camino. La universidad se preocupó por hacernos sentir cálidos y recibidos; escuchamos al coro de la universidad entonar sus melodías, llenando el ambiente de energía positiva y esperanzas. Cada palabra pronunciada por los representantes de la universidad parecía estar destinada a inspirarnos, alentarnos a aprovechar al máximo esta nueva etapa de nuestras vidas.

During the welcome, we had the opportunity to meet the deans and some of the people in charge of our respective faculties, as well as some of the professors who would accompany us on our journey. The university took care to make us feel warm and welcome; we listened to the university choir sing their melodies, filling the atmosphere with positive energy and hope. Every word spoken by the university representatives seemed to be meant to inspire us, to encourage us to make the most of this new stage of our lives.

Después de la ceremonia, nos dividieron en grupos según las carreras que nos asignaron. A nosotros, que comenzamos en Administración, nos llevaron a un recorrido por la universidad, mostrándonos los diferentes módulos y espacios que serían nuestro hogar durante los próximos años. Con cada paso que daba, me sentía más emocionada. Era un gran campus, lleno de jardines, áreas de estudio y salones que prometían ser lugares de aprendizaje y crecimiento personal.

After the ceremony, we were divided into groups according to our assigned majors. We, who started in Administration, were taken on a tour of the university, showing us the different modules and spaces that would be our home for the next few years. With every step I took, I felt more excited. It was a large campus, full of gardens, study areas and classrooms that promised to be places of learning and personal growth.

Mientras conocíamos los distintos salones, el presentador nos explicaba cómo sería nuestra rutina en el primer semestre. Al principio, tendríamos clases en algunos módulos, pero a medida que avanzaran los semestres y lleguemos en el sexto semestre nos mudaremos definitivamente a la cede de contaduría o administración, tuvimos la oportunidad de recorrer las aulas de la administración y contaduría. Este proceso de transición me hizo sentir ansiosa, llena de expectativas sobre lo que aprendería y cómo podría aplicar esos conocimientos en mi futuro profesional.

While we were getting to know the different classrooms, the presenter explained to us how our routine would be in the first semester. At the beginning, we would have classes in some modules, but as the semesters progressed and we arrived in the sixth semester we would definitely move to the accounting or administration campus, we had the opportunity to tour the administration and accounting classrooms. This transition process made me feel anxious, full of expectations about what I would learn and how I could apply that knowledge in my future career.

Llegamos a una de las aulas de administración y contaduría, donde fueron presentados los presidentes de ECSA, que es la organización estudiantil del área. Fue grato escuchar sus testimonios y la manera en que cada uno de ellos había encontrado su lugar en la universidad, convertido en un espacio profesional vibrante y lleno de oportunidades. La charla fue informativa y realmente muy motivante, ya que nos animaron a involucrarnos y ser parte activa de la comunidad universitaria.

We arrived at one of the administration and accounting classrooms, where the presidents of ECSA, which is the student organization for the area, were introduced. It was nice to hear their testimonies and how each of them had found their place in the university, which has become a vibrant professional space full of opportunities. The talk was informative and really very motivating, as they encouraged us to get involved and be an active part of the university community.

Uno de los momentos más importantes fue cuando nos explicaron el próximo paso a seguir: crear nuestra cuenta en la página web de la universidad. Con ello, tendríamos acceso a nuestros horarios de clases y información esencial para el inicio de las actividades académicas. Este simple detalle hizo que la universidad se sintiera más accesible y me permitió ver que comenzaba una nueva rutina que incluiría el estudio, las tareas y nuevas amistades.

One of the most important moments was when they explained to us the next step to follow: to create our account on the university's website. With this, we would have access to our class schedules and essential information for the start of academic activities. This simple detail made the university feel more accessible and allowed me to see the beginning of a new routine that would include studying, homework and new friendships.

Finalizado el recorrido, mi novio y yo compartimos nuestras impresiones sobre el día. La emoción de ese primer día era abrumadora, pero estábamos listos para enfrentar este nuevo desafío. Entendíamos que no solo íbamos a adquirir conocimientos, sino que también a construir nuevas relaciones y vivir experiencias que definitivamente marcarían nuestras vidas. Hoy, comenzamos no solo una carrera, sino una etapa que espero sea enriquecedora y que aporte mucho valor a nuestro futuro. Sin duda, nuestra aventura en la universidad apenas comenzaba.

After the tour, my boyfriend and I shared our impressions of the day. The excitement of that first day was overwhelming, but we were ready to face this new challenge. We understood that we were not only going to acquire knowledge, but also to build new relationships and live experiences that would definitely mark our lives. Today, we are starting not only a career, but a stage that I hope will be enriching and that will add much value to our future. Undoubtedly, our adventure at the university was just beginning.
