It's all about Cassava|| ''Gari'', now the commonly sort after food in my Country.
Life generally is beautiful with it's amazing work of art and nature alike, and whether you like it or not you can't deny the sight of them and even the blind can't deny the feeling. Out of our minds we try as much as possible to filter what we don't want and hold on to the imaginations emanating from our common and strange desires, but still we can't stop or take away what is meant in whatever course of life we've accepted to deal in.
Often times there are some things we disregard and treat as if they do not matter, well it might not matter now, but sooner or later, it would become as important as any other thing we've come to love and cherish. On another perspective we might not like it still, but we can't still do without it as it is right now, no one dares disappear from where life situations has placed them.
Come to think of it, have we ever observed that even what we eat and drink, what we put on as dresses, where we go and the means of transportation we decide to go in, what we say and how silent we get about things, friends and maybe foes, are all back down to our choices, which we sometimes get indecisive about. Having conflicting thoughts, we often get selective in all these, but life itself plays tricks till the point that the rejected stone would become the chief corner stone. Most especially in situations where what we eat might not be based on what we desire at that particular point in time, but the choice is being influenced by our financial strength, environment and in some cases our health. Some people even get to the point of wishing they could do without food for the rest of their lives despite the fact that they know they can't cheat nature.

Take for instance, in Nigeria my country, there is a meal or snacks or cookies, called "Gari" (a product of cassava) also called cassava "páfe", I mean you can call it whatever you want or like depending how you prepared it for yourself or what you purchased it for, to be eaten as "Eba" (its mixture with boiled water) or to drink as "garri" (its mixture with with groundnut and any beverage you like). Which is of different types; the normal white "Gari" or the Ijebu gari sometimes giving one a sour taste, and the yellow Gari, mostly used for the "Eba" (just a little palm oil was added during its processing to give the yellow colour).
It's funny how this meal was once spoken against and refered to as poor man's food and those in school call it Student Power (SP), as it is a very common food among the students, fast and easy to prepare, life saver it is when one needs it. Other products gotten from cassava are "fufu" "abacha", cassava flour, cassava flakes and many others. You can have your Garri either as "Eba"which could be with any kind of vegetable soups ("Ila", "ẹfọ", "Ewédú" or "Egusi") you would like with beef or fish or chicken as preference differs and changes over time.
Cassava as we all believe it to be, is a tuber crop and it is planted and ready for harvest over a period of Eight months. Not all soil types are suitable enough for it's proper growth and yield.
About this particular cassava product, Nigerians had a lot of negative ideas and observations about it because of the processes involved in it's production, which improvement in it process of production would help solve hygiene issues attached to it, and too much intake of it is believed to like cause eye issues till the point of blind, I mean we all know too much of everything is bad, so it is still not a good reason to castigate or condemn the food, but there were still a few, especially the poor and the average or middle class of the society who held it dear, doing wonders with it as they like overtime, at dinner times or lunch times or breakfast times. Now that things are no longer as they used to be, the economy of the country very challenging with all that is happening, making life very tough, everyone now sees "Gari" as very important as other types of food, which was easily affordable for even low income earners and one could still get the desired level of satisfaction, but now that the demand of it is increasing, it is the causing the increase in the price it is being sold, now gari is becoming the most commonly sort after food by people as everyone seeks to survive through the day unto the next, even the rich finds it difficult to give out gari this days.
Nicely prepared and served it could become one of your favorite dishes or food to be eaten. Highly rich in Carbohydrate helping you to stay strong at any time to be sure you are up to the task before you. Sometimes we might even say another man's food is another's poison,i bet you would be wrong when it comes to "Gari", try getting it and have a taste for yourself to see it all and enjoy it for the rest of your life.
In all, the message is that, the capacity and the capability we have over some things at every moment of life in general, doesn't give us the right to call them trash or irrelevant; wait, watch and see tables turn and you would realize the reason why God said that everything He created was good.
