My Journey as an Educator
Good evening hives . .. I believe that your day revolves as great as mine. I hope the year is moving slowly and further with great things, big doings and other positive significance in our life.
As Education is considered and to be an educationist , all entities on that line must partake in the foresight and growth from the starting point.
As for me and this lifestyle as an educator, I never wanted or planned to be a teacher but all the changes which are constant in life happened during my years in the higher institution.
During the second year in the institution, I enrolled for a teaching post in a second school that resided in the institution I studied at then due to fund raising. I was enrolled in the institution on a per time basis so I only go for lectures on weekends , Saturday and Sunday precisely.
So as the institution involvement was going , I added to do something on my weekdays to earn income and that was what pushed me to teach.
I have not taught in a second school standard before so I just tried my luck then. I was given a six month trial to take up the challenge to teach English Language as a subject then and I will always appreciate and pray for the proprietor of the school who gave me that opportunity to upgrade my teaching skill and standard on a trial of six months.
His name is Mr Afolabi , a very honest, kind and generous man that I can be proud of and consider as a mentor till date.
I can not forget his statement that day as he stated ; “ Mr Ajani , you will have to read a lot and wide and Every Time to meet up with standard” , and I can't forget answering him with "I will not disappoint you sir" either.
I started the trial and passed the act of teaching in six months then he intentionally put me to coordinate the assembly of hundreds of students every Monday in order to check my public speaking, communication and confidence.
He will give me assessments to do on the assembly ground like ; passing necessary information, working on the words of the weeks and class of words and lastly using the positive motives books to teach students moral lessons. At first , then I thought he was been mean towards me by giving me the responsibility that supersede my capability then but after a year of all that pressure, I saw that he was given me the needed tools to be an educator and after a year , I can take any class in the second sector and my public speaking skill has also meet up any standard including my communication skill.
I always pray for my ex-boss any time and any day his name crosses my mind. I graduated from that high institution so many years ago , left his school too many years ago when I changed location but the experience and skill obtained from his school always stick with me as I teach at present in two different schools on a per-time basis.
I thank God for life and the positive rapid growth of attainment.
I am taking my career to the next level and I know in the near future, I will stand on the podium , talking to hundreds of thousands or millions of people .
I wish you all the best of luck as the year is moving slowly and furthering.
And to all my fans and like minds, may God be with you and may all the goodies of this year be our potion. Amen.
