Hi everyone, enjoy your weekend. 🌸🩷
When someone is in their darkest hour, how do you show support without words?
Last night, we attended a funeral discourse for our friend's husband, Kuya Oscar, who passed away unexpectedly due to a heart attack.
‎
‎His children never imagined that his time would end so early, or how everything could change in an instant.
‎
‎During the program, the family showed a photo presentation filled with moments from Kuya Oscar's life.

His smiles, simple gatherings, and ordinary days.
‎
‎The room is filled with quiet sobs.
‎
‎One part that struck my heart deeply was the message from his daughter.
‎
‎She shared how they had a misunderstanding before the incident happened.
‎
‎Her voice trembled as she expressed the pain, knowing there would be no more chances to talk, to apologize, or to fix what was left unfinished.
‎
‎That realization for me is heartbreaking.
‎
‎I can imagine myself in her situation, I'll probably carry the burden of not having time and another opportunity. ðŸ˜
‎
‎Actually, I wasn't that close to Kuya Oscar, but I could feel how deeply he was loved by so many, moving me to tears as well. 😢
‎
‎The burial today
‎
‎This afternoon, we still decided to join the burial.

We had already shown up last night, but somehow in moments like this showing up once is not always enough.
‎
‎Grief doesn't end when the program is over. It lingers quietly, especially on the day when everything finally feels real, which is held on the day of the burial.

We knew that no words could truly ease the pain the family was carrying.
‎
‎Still, presence has a language of its own.
‎
‎So we went. Because being there mattered.
‎
‎Standing beside them, walking with them through one of the hardest moments of their lives was our way of saying "You are not alone."

Of course, the family cried, and it broke my heart.
‎
‎Watching their pain made me feel the weight of their loss.
‎
‎After the final viewing, they carried the tomb and began the walk toward its resting place.

We didn't follow them all the way, as we had our kids with us and the path was slippery.
‎
‎Instead, we watched from afar.
‎
‎From where we stood, we saw the balloons being released into the sky.

After that, I saw Kuya Oscar's wife already walking home.
‎
‎To me, it looked like she wasn't crying at all, unlike last night.
‎
‎I was deeply amazed by her strength, by how she carried herself despite the loss she had just faced.
‎
‎I hope she continues that courage without her other half. 🥺
‎
‎--
‎
‎This experience reminded me to never delay expressing love while we still can. Sometimes we're so busy that we can't even prioritize the people that we love.
‎
‎I hope we all cherish those ordinary days, simple conversations coz that can't be brought back when there's no time. 🌷
‎
‎Until my next experience...
‎
‎Thanks for the visit! Have a lovely day. Buh-bye. 💗🌸

Very very true! When words fail to materialize, this is the best recourse I usually default to. Just being there means a lot. May his soul rest in peace.
