En publicaciones pasadas les he compartido información acerca del método de organización Bullet Journal. Les he hablado sobre en qué consiste, cómo ordenar las secciones dentro de la agenda e incluso he compartido un poco de inspiración artística. Sin embargo, no he ahondado de forma explícita sobre el material básico que podemos implementar para poner en práctica este método.
In past posts I have shared with you information about the Bullet Journal method of organization. I've told you about what it consists of, how to arrange the sections within the planner and even shared a bit of artistic inspiration. However, I have not explicitly delved into the basic material we can implement to put this method into practice.
La verdad es que existen muchos materiales que podemos emplear, desde lo más simple como un bolígrafo y una libreta, hasta lo más avanzado como pintar con acuarelas o usar stickers y washitapes. La variedad de arte decorativa que podemos plasmar en nuestra agenda es bastante amplia, pero todo va a depender de saber identificar qué es lo que más encaja con nuestro estilo. En esta publicación les compartiré una lista de artículos o materiales que yo considero que son 100% básicos para iniciarse con el Bullet Journal (e incluso también en el journaling) y hacer de este un sistema de organización eficiente, bonito y motivador.
The truth is that there are many materials that we can use, from the simplest like a pen and a notebook, to the most advanced like painting with watercolors or using stickers and washitapes. The variety of decorative art that we can put in our agenda is quite wide, but it all depends on knowing how to identify what best fits our style. In this post I will share with you a list of items or materials that I consider to be 100% basic to get started with the Bullet Journal (and even journaling) and make it an efficient, beautiful and motivating organization system.

Basic materials to get started with the Bullet Journal
- AGENDA
La agenda es el corazón del Bullet Journal y del Journaling. Sin libreta no hay nada, y es por eso que lo ideal es encontrar un producto de máxima calidad. Al momento de hacer una buena elección en cuanto a nuestra libreta se refiere, hay algunas consideraciones importantes que debemos tener en cuenta:
Lo ideal es que nuestra libreta sea de tapa dura, ya que tendrá una mayor resistencia y, por ende, perdurará más en el tiempo. También es bueno, sobretodo todo para el Bullet Journal, que sus hojas tengan alguna especie de cuadrícula como puntos, por ejemplo, ya que en este método de organización suelen realizarse diversas listas de tareas, calendarios y cuadros, por lo que tener la guía de una cuadrícula facilita mucho más el trabajo. No recomiendo mucho emplear agendas de hojas de rayas para el caso del Bullet Journal, ya que suelen ser un poco engorrosas al momentos de querer plasmar el contenido, sin embargo, este tipo de libretas sí son perfectas para realizar journaling.
Otro factor importante es el tipo de gramaje en la libreta. Existen varios tipos de gramajes que podemos encontrar en las libretas, pero la elección también dependerá del uso que le damos a nuestra agenda. Si eres como yo y realizas un BuJo muy decorando en donde empleas diferentes tipos de marcadores, pinturas al frío, acuarelas, recortes de papel, lo mejor es seleccionar una libreta con un gramaje de 160 gramos por metro cúbico, así aseguramos que la tinta de los marcadores o cualquier otro tipo de material no traspase hacia la hoja de atrás.
- NOTEBOOK
The notebook is the heart of the Bullet Journal and Journaling. Without a notebook there is nothing, and that is why the ideal is to find a top quality product. When making a good choice in terms of our notebook, there are some important considerations to keep in mind:
Ideally, our notebook should have a hard cover, since it will be more resistant and, therefore, will last longer. It is also good, especially for the Bullet Journal, that its sheets have some kind of grid such as dots, for example, since in this method of organization usually relizarse various to-do lists, calendars and tables, so having the guidance of a grid facilitates the work much more. I do not recommend using lined agendas for the Bullet Journal, as they tend to be a bit cumbersome when you want to capture the content, however, this type of notebooks are perfect for journaling.
Another important factor is the type of grammage in the notebook. There are several types of weights that we can find in notebooks, but the choice will also depend on the use we give to our agenda. If you are like me and do a very decorative BuJo where you use different types of markers, cold paints, watercolors, paper cutouts, it is best to select a notebook with a grammage of 160 grams per cubic meter, so we ensure that the ink from the markers or any other type of material does not transfer to the back sheet.
- WASHITAPES
En lo que se refiere específicamente a la decoración uno de los artículos que no pueden faltar son los washitapes o cintas decorativas. Pueden encontrarse de muchos colores, texturas y estampados e incluso también de diversos grosores. La variedad de diseños es increíblemente amplia por lo que los hace perfectos para las mentes creativas que adoran darle un aspecto más llamativo a las páginas de la agenda.
- WASHITAPES
As far as decoration is concerned, one of the must-have items are the washitapes or decorative tapes. They can be found in many colors, textures and patterns and even in different thicknesses. The variety of designs is incredibly wide, which makes them perfect for creative minds that love to give a more eye-catching look to the pages of the agenda.
- BOLÍGRAFOS O MARCADORES PUNTA FINA
Aunque no lo creas el tipo de bolígrafo o marcador que empleemos también juega un papel importante. Yo, particularmente, soy más de escribir en mi agenda con marcadores punta fina y por ello terminé adquiriendo una set de marcadores negros de puntas finas que van desde 0,1 mm a 1 mm de grosor. Estos son perfectos tanto para escribir como para dibujar trazos muy delicados en donde la precisión es la clave. En cuanto a bolígrafos, mis preferidos son los de gel porque el acabado es bastante bonito pero la parte negativa es que suelen secarse rápido.
- FINE POINT PENS OR MARKERS
Believe it or not the type of pen or marker we use also plays an important role. I, particularly, am more of a fine tip marker writer and so I ended up purchasing a set of black fine tip markers ranging from 0.1 mm to 1 mm thick. These are perfect for both writing and drawing very delicate strokes where precision is key. As for pens, my favorite are the gel pens because the finish is quite nice but the downside is that they tend to dry quickly.

- SET DE MARCADORES
Un set pequeño de marcadores de colores para iniciar es uno de los artículos básicos que no nos pueden faltar. Algo de lo que debemos de estar atentos a la hora de adquirir marcadores es si estos son a base de alcohol o a base de agua porque, por lo general, los primeros suelen traspasar fácilmente el papel de la mayoría de las libretas que podemos encontrar en el mercado independientemente de su gramaje. Existen diferentes tipos de marcadores según la punta que posean, por ejemplo, los de punta biselada son perfectos para resaltar textos y para colorear. Los de punta estilo pincel son ideales para realizar lettering digamos que a un nivel un poco avanzado y, por supuesto, también funcionan para colorear. La elección del tipo de marcadores, como verán, depende que lo que queramos hacer pero mi recomendación es que si estás iniciándote en este asunto escojas un set de marcadores de punta biselada pues son, de cierta manera, los más versátiles y cómodos de usar. En una próxima publicación puedo expandir un poco más este tema de los tipos de marcadores y sus diferentes usos.
- SET OF MARKERS
A small set of colored markers to start with is one of the basic items that we cannot miss. Something to be aware of when buying markers is whether they are alcohol-based or water-based because, in general, the first ones tend to easily go through the paper of most of the notebooks we can find in the market, regardless of their weight. There are different types of markers depending on the tip they have, for example, bevel-tipped markers are perfect for highlighting text and coloring. Those with a brush tip are ideal for lettering at a more advanced level and, of course, they also work for coloring. The choice of the type of markers, as you will see, depends on what we want to do but my recommendation is that if you are starting in this matter choose a set of bevel tip markers because they are, in a way, the most versatile and comfortable to use. In a future post I can expand a little more on the types of markers and their different uses.

Sí, ciertamente, al entrar en el oscuro mundo de los washitapes ya no existirá vuelta atrás jajaja. Aquí porque realmente es complicado conseguir, pero en tiendas online se consiguen bellezas 😍

Poco a poco puedes ir adquiriendo más materiales. Ciertamente, los materiales de papelería y arte suelen ser un poco costosos pero es una inversión que vale mucho la pena 💜
