When dreams start to fit with reality, you find yourself pulling all the strings to make the puppet of happiness dance, you find the way to do what you thought was impossible because it brings happiness to your life, and your effort, the true hidden value, comes to light. I say this because we usually say “I don't have time” when it comes to extracurricular activities. It's normal, we don't have time to go on with our traditional and quiet life and add something that requires time. If it is going to take time away from us, we will need to choose to give it to something, and focus on it, put the focus on what we are going to gain, not what is lost. (What is sleeping two hours less? the project is huge!)

At some point I chose to stop going to fairs (besides the bad experience they brought me) to start going to the murga on Saturdays. For many years I postponed this love for carnival, and it is something I already knew, we work all year long, we only enjoy with the public in February, but all year long we are working. We only enjoy the public in February, but all year long we are working hard, by sheer force of will and of many people who alone do not achieve anything, but united, they move mountains. I tell you this, because as a lifestyle, it also always coincides with my search for a job as an employee. I wanted something from Monday to Friday, I was not going to give up my Saturday activity, it brings too much happiness to my days.

Right now I have managed to get a great job from Monday to Friday, it is a safe income with which to contribute to everything necessary for the carnival, from a costume, a pair of slippers or to buy fresh water because February is overwhelming .... But there are also other activities, we have recently organized as a group a peña (a small group, so they understood each other better) and all the work was distributed, with the aim of raising funds to pay for buses on February nights: they are expensive and we are many.

Let's be clear that being part of a murga does not imply paying anything, absolutely nothing. No money, nothing extra. It is only about going, wanting, committing, being punctual, rehearsing, putting the will to learn what we find difficult, making good connections with others. No money. Whoever can with money, contributes, and whoever can by hanging flags, contributes. So, a little bit from all of us. Little by little we are achieving it. So, what can I tell you? The organization of the Peña went very well, but that group ended up very tired, that's why we had a second group to raise the next event, and that's where I come in.

This group is even smaller.On the one hand, there will be many musicians, and guests, on the other: the behind the scenes. We are preparing a musical theatrical presentation, which sounds beautiful and inspires so much nostalgia, tango, years of history and much more.It stirs memories, warms the heart, a pampering to the soul. That is why only 4 of us (we are more than 80) are in charge of setting up the stage.And that is why, without funds, it is difficult to do it.I proposed myself to do this power down week to donate a part of it, I don't know how much we will really need.And why do I say this? because in the first meeting we had, everything was very energetic, we started to think, to give ideas, to draw scenographies, to write lists of materials, objects, who we would ask, how to move things, while the group of musicians was on the other side, rehearsing and also defining their art. When the mastermind arrived, the ideographer of all this said “How are you going?” we wanted to give him clear ideas, and we had a cloud of “everything is possible, but we depend on something... What is the budget?”

That's where I understand again that everything that is done out of passion does not require big expenses, he looked at us very pacifically and said “Budget? No, another question?” and half of our ideas fell through. We are not giving up, and there is no time to raise funds. A power down from my account today is 50 something dollars, I hope we can alleviate costs, because the idea is that, that it won't be an expense out of anyone's pocket, besides, if this post yields results, I will also donate this part.

It inspires me to see that we are projecting based on what is in our minds and in our hearts, it amazes me how unambitious is a project that will explode with love, and that I also hope to be able to show you in less than a month, but above all, it inspires me, because choosing a murga so familiar, with so many values, sharing the riches that are not seen in the pockets, but the one that is born of emotion and poetry, means to me then, to go a few times a week, to be in video call, to draw, plan, cut, glue, assemble, etc etc etc etc.All this I love (crafts, diy, drawing, art, my friends, among so many other things) and I really thought I didn't have time to give it, but look... time is what we do when we consider that building the dream is bigger than our own, because in a month, we will only have the memory of having worked as a team and that the event was memorable.I hope you are around to enjoy, because @lareadelsur is going to shine in November!!!
