On what Authority? …let's have it.

A famous Nigerian artist once said, "you go explain tire, cause no evidence"
(That is to say, without evidence, one's testimony will not be regarded)

In life many things (if not everything) work on the basis of authorities (in every sense), particularly in the sense of a backbone or a foundation.

What then do i mean by 'authority' or 'evidence'?

I mean, a somewhat proof of efficacy. A reason for which a fact, person, product or situation should be relied on.

Truth be told, without evidence, you would just be telling stories that might as well pass a fairy tales.

This is more reason for which, while writing your essays, you are advised to put in the affirming comments made by people standing as authorities in that particular field of research—authority!

How about when you make your CV?

As a matter of fact, the greater the authority cited, the more credible you work is perceived to be.

So as a law student, I have to cite as many credible authorities in my paper as possible, because it's really not about what I have to say, but about how credible (reliable or firm) it is.

The same applies for diplomats and of course everyone of us in our varying fields.

You might want to ask, "am I not an authority?"

Well maybe you are—or not, but one thing is certain and that is, you use authorities to become an authority. And even when you become an authority, you also use other authorities to give your work a firm backbone.

Henceforth, work with this knowledge and have yourself more credibility☺️
