And we went on a Christmas Walk

My mom is the person who passed on to me my great love for Christmas. I have always loved everything about it, its meaning, the music, the food and the decorations and the city where I live has a lot to offer in terms of activities and the visual part, but I never have the pleasure of enjoying it, since every December with the arrival of the vacations I go to my hometown to spend it with my family. This time I wanted to do something different and I went out to see Christmas in the capital, but I decided to do it with the best of the company... My mom ❤️

One of the things I love to do most nowadays is to go for a walk, but I try to always change the location so I don't get bored. I knew this area of the city would be heavily decorated with Christmas and my mom was eager to walk and go for the adventure, so we went out before sunset to enjoy the Christmas lights. I warned her that we would be walking a lot, I wanted to go to Paseo Los Próceres, but she herself decided that we would start at Paseo Los Ilustres, and I think in the end I got more tired than her 😅

I won't deny it, the lights exceeded my expectations. I knew there would be many, but I thought it was in one place and not all along our walk, but my mom was amazed with this part of the city, in fact it was very nice to discover the amount of people that were walking here on such a normal day, it was Wednesday, but all of Caracas was on the street. Not only was it magical to go for a walk with mom, but it was so nice to be with a person who is enjoying all the beauty that life puts in her way.

When the heart is broken the most healing thing we can do is to be in good company and go for a walk to clear the mind, see different things, breathe other airs, and this was the main idea of this mother and son walk. It was a very complex year for both of us, and yet I am aware that life treated me better in 2024, but my beloved mother is still going through many things and I have not been able to be physically there at those times. There is nothing I love more than seeing the people I love happy, but boy does everything get more complicated with each passing year.

Our home is in Aragua State, and I've always thought it's one of the hottest places in Venezuela. I've had the impression that Turmero is closer to the sun than the rest of the country 🤣 so going for a walk in Caracas at night feels like a balm for the soul because it's so cool. I really liked that my mom felt so identified with Caracas, I have always wanted my family to live in the same city as me, so who knows if they will come more often in the future, to make her fall in love I gave her the best of the city the days we shared together.

I'm sure this walk did its job on our bodies and minds because it was so beautiful. We walked to the monoliths of Los Proceres, so we practically did the whole tour and we still entered the Military Circle of Caracas to see El Laguito at night, and yes, it was very beautiful and illuminated not only by Christmas, but also by the light of the moon and the stars. It was a perfect walk, like those that I have only achieved with my wife, but now it was with my mother, and that is something very precious to me 🙏
