Desde mi último post han sido mucho los acontecimientos transcurridos en mi vida, de lo que en otro momento escribiré, lo cierto es que he tenido situaciones comparado a una montaña rusa, que me han llevado a discernir, evaluar, reflexionar y tomar nuevas decisiones que para ésta temporada se manifestaron con la suma de una nueva experiencia vivida entre libros, lo cual fue el pronóstico para lo que se me avecina en el 2026.
Greetings dear readers, today I give life and love to my blog feeling full of emotion for my return to the hive. Since my last post there have been many events in my life, of which at another time I will write, the truth is that I have had situations compared to a roller coaster, which have led me to discern, evaluate, reflect and make new decisions that for this season were manifested with the addition of a new experience lived between books, which was the forecast for what lies ahead for me in 2026.
Por ahora confieso que en los últimos tiempos he reconocido con vehemencia, que el atrevernos a realizar cambios en nuestras vidas requiere de mucho coraje y determinación, aventurarnos a lo desconocido, salir de la zona de confort puede tener sus ventajas y desventajas, que al asumirlo conlleva a cambios inevitables y que marcan un ante y después en nuestras vidas.
For now I confess that in recent times I have vehemently recognized that daring to make changes in our lives requires a lot of courage and determination, venturing into the unknown, leaving the comfort zone can have its advantages and disadvantages, which when assumed leads to inevitable changes that mark a before and after in our lives.
Es así como relato lo que desde hace 7 meses vengo experimentado al haber dejado mi trabajo como docente de arte plásticas con 16 años de servicio en diferentes instituciones educativas. A penas renunciando, a través de contactos encontré un nuevo empleo en la administración pública relacionado igual al área de la educación, pero ahora como facilitadora en la promoción de la cultura, bienes tangibles e intangibles patrimoniales de Caracas - Venezuela.

El salir de la escuelita amplio mi panorama laboral incluyendo el reconocimiento de la diversidad y divergencia en los equipos de trabajo, de igual forma he ido conociendo personas con afinidades que integran y ofrecen nuevas oportunidades. Fue así como a principio del mes de noviembre fui invitada por mi jefa a participar como encuestadora en la 16ma feria del libro de Caracas. Eso significó un esfuerzo extra pues tuve que suspender durante una semana el trabajo en las 15 escuela donde voy como facilitadora de brigadas patrimoniales escolares, para al reincorporarme retomar el programa de manifestaciones decembrinas.
Leaving the school broadened my work outlook, including the recognition of diversity and divergence in work teams, and I have also been meeting people with affinities that integrate and offer new opportunities. At the beginning of November I was invited by my boss to participate as a pollster in the 16th book fair in Caracas. That meant an extra effort because I had to suspend for a week the work in the 15 schools where I go as a facilitator of school heritage brigades, to rejoin the program of Christmas demonstrations.

Realmente esta invitación la acepté por la necesidad de percibir otro ingreso y el deseo de experimentar algo nuevo. En alguna oportunidad hace muchos años estuve en la feria del libro en calidad de artista, pero desde lo interno u organizacional nunca imaginé cuan arduo resulta estar integrado con las autoridades que dirigen estos eventos y mucho menos enterada sobre la inmensa logística y responsabilidad que hay detrás para llevar a cabo una actividad de esta magnitud.
I really accepted this invitation because of the need to earn another income and the desire to experience something new. Many years ago I once attended the book fair as an artist, but from an internal or organizational point of view I never imagined how arduous it is to be integrated with the authorities who run these events and much less aware of the immense logistics and responsibility that lies behind to carry out an activity of this magnitude.
El trabajo consistió en realizar al visitante de la feria una encuesta digital de 36 preguntas relacionadas a hábitos y consumo cultural en cuanto a: cine, teatro, lectura, deporte, música, gastronomía, artesanía, integrándose a esta nueva etapa las redes sociales e inteligencia artificial como elemento cultura. Estas preguntas fueron estructuradas por un equipo de sociólogos y psicólogos venezolanos, llamados anualmente para realizar esta consulta en la ciudad de Caracas, quienes nos manifestarón que cada vez son más interesantes las estadísticas sobre los hábitos y consumo cultural dentro de la urbe caraqueña.
The work consisted of conducting a digital survey of 36 questions related to cultural habits and consumption in terms of: cinema, theater, reading, sports, music, gastronomy, handicrafts, integrating social networks and artificial intelligence as a cultural element to this new stage. These questions were structured by a team of Venezuelan sociologists and psychologists, called annually to conduct this consultation in the city of Caracas, who told us that the statistics on the habits and cultural consumption within the city of Caracas are increasingly interesting.
Esta encuesta por lo mínimo se llevaba entre 5 a 8 minutos dependiendo de la interactivo que fuésemos con el encuestado, en mi caso hasta compré caramelos para poder entretenerlos un poco y así hacer de la encuesta un tiempo ameno. Este trabajo fue integrado por un equipo de 20 encuestadores de dos entidades de la alcaldía de Caracas Fundarte y Fundapatrimonio unidad en la que actualmente trabajo. Entre todos de lunes a viernes debíamos hacer 15 o 20 encuestas medio día y fin de semana de 25 a 30 todo el día, respetando nuestro tiempo de almuerzo y autorregulación. La meta final de la feria era alzar en una semana 2500 encuestas, cuyo resultado se sobrepasó obteniendo entre todas 2,650 encuestas.
This survey took at least 5 to 8 minutes depending on how interactive we were with the respondent, in my case I even bought candy to entertain them a little and make the survey a pleasant time. This work was integrated by a team of 20 surveyors from two entities of the mayor's office of Caracas, Fundarte and Fundapatrimonio, the unit where I currently work. Between all of us, from Monday to Friday we had to do 15 or 20 surveys half day and 25 to 30 all day on weekends, respecting our lunch time and self-regulation. The final goal of the fair was to raise in one week 2500 surveys, which result was exceeded obtaining between all 2,650 surveys.

Para mí participar en esta feria fue una experiencia enriquecedora que de corazón agradecí, a pesar de lo arduo del trabajo pues hubo personas que no estuvieron dispuestas a ser entrevistadas quienes salían con insolencias, menosprecio e improperio, ya que iban con un solo objetivo a su feria, de allí que sentí muy de cerca parte de la podredumbre humana. Sin embargo, eso no me quito el ánimo, tuve la oportunidad de compartir con mucha gente amigos y estudiantes amantes del arte que hace tiempo no veía, como otros que me visitaron para regalarme su entrevista y hasta un café compartimos.
For me, participating in this fair was an enriching experience that I was heartily grateful for, despite the hard work, because there were people who were not willing to be interviewed who came out with insolence, contempt and insult, since they went with only one objective to their fair, hence I felt very closely part of the human rot. However, this did not dampen my spirits, I had the opportunity to share with many people, friends and art-loving students that I had not seen for a long time, as well as others who visited me to give me their interview and we even shared coffee.
Fue una feria hermosa llena de esplendor y sabiduría donde no dejaba de maravillarme ante tanta diversidad cultural de nuestro país, estuve brevemente presente en varias ponencias y bautizo de los libros como: Colores de la cosmovisión Wayuu de Marilin Echeto Ipuana y Pictogramas indígena de Venezuela de Saul Padilla. Así como estos ejemplares muchas otros libros y cuentos de gran interés para mí que disfrute en mis pequeños tiempos libres, al igual que retratarme con gente realmente nutritiva de distintas latitudes.
It was a beautiful fair full of splendor and wisdom where I could not stop marveling at so much cultural diversity of our country, I was briefly present at several presentations and baptism of books such as: Colors of the Wayuu cosmovision by Marilin Echeto Ipuana and Pictogramas indígena de Venezuela by Saul Padilla. As well as these copies many other books and stories of great interest to me that I enjoyed in my little free time, as well as portraying me with really nourishing people from different latitudes.
Existe un dicho que expresa: Las oportunidades pasan una sola vez en la vida y con esta vivencia lo reafirmé, al punto que conocí y me rencontré con gente linda, quienes a salir de la feria me esperaban para ir a contarnos cuentos y percibir la belleza de la Caracas nocturna en víspera de la navidad e ir a comer helados. Fue esta feria una muy grata experiencia y agradezco a la vida por haberme colocado en el camino esta invitación que entre libros y gente nutritiva pude visibilizar oportunidades, siendo esa semana para mí el pronóstico de nuevos proyectos.
There is a saying: Opportunities happen only once in a lifetime and with this experience I reaffirmed it, to the point that I met and met again with beautiful people, who when leaving the fair were waiting for me to go to tell us stories and perceive the beauty of the night Caracas on Christmas eve and go to eat ice cream. This fair was a very pleasant experience and I thank life for having placed in my way this invitation that among books and nourishing people I could see opportunities, being that week for me the prognosis of new projects.
