No te voy a mentir, mis primeras dos semanas en España fueron una montaña rusa de emociones. Ahora, luego de un poco más de veinte días, es que me siento algo aterrizada.

Fue un choque muy fuerte, salir de apagones interminables, colas para todo, muchísimo calor; y llegar aquí con otro clima, calles que no tienen baches, e internet ilimitado, se sintió muy raro.

Al comienzo también tuve que dar un montón de vueltas tramitando residencia y demás para poder salir a buscar trabajo, el cual aún no tengo. En fin, un día a la vez ha sido el mantra que me mantiene en pie con tantas cosas nuevas y mi necesidad de ir despacio.

Ya quiero volver por acá como hacía habitualmente y contarte más detalles de la vida en España siendo cubana, mi proceso de adaptación, y las bonitas cosas que suceden en el camino.

I'm not going to lie to you, my first two weeks in Spain were a roller coaster of emotions. Now, after a little over twenty days, I feel somewhat settled.

It was a huge shock to leave behind endless power outages, queues for everything, and extreme heat, and arrive here with a different climate, streets without potholes, and unlimited internet. It felt very strange.

At first, I also had to run around a lot to get my residency and other paperwork sorted out so I could start looking for a job, which I still don't have. Anyway, taking it one day at a time has been the mantra that keeps me going with so many new things and my need to take it slow.

I want to come back here as I used to and tell you more details about life in Spain as a Cuban, my adaptation process, and the beautiful things that happen along the way.
