Random musings

There’s always so much to think about at midnight - business ideas, musings about life, actual theories. These thoughts come with much more force than those that assail you during the day and they’re always intriguing. There are nights where I’ll just decide that I don’t like the current trajectory of my life, and decide that I want a change by morning. A decision that I never fully carry out.

There’s even the realizations that occur at midnight. Moments where I’m reviewing all that went on during the day, and among those events, I’m hit with the realization that a situation was deeper than I had perceived at the moment it happened. Perhaps, you had a conversation with someone at day, and while reminiscing on the details, you realize there was insult laced under a compliment. These usually happen at 2am when you con no longer do anything about the situation. An annoying feeling to be honest.

Now, you ever wondered why ‘good morning’ is regarded as a greeting in many places around the world, whereas those two words when put together, according to the English language, wishes one well? I remember asking my friend this in the morning, and then, headed onto the internet to find why its that. That’s one random thought I had recently.

When I was younger, I used to imagine what it would be like if we all in the world had to wear clothes turn by turn? I mean, for one day, everybody had to alternate wearing clothes. One person in the world has to wear a cloth today, and the next, another will wear, and so on. Don’t even ask me how I arrived at this thought process as a child? I just remember it because it’s one of the craziest ideas I had as a child.

Growing up, that question morphed into something entirely different. What if everyone in the world didn’t actually exist? I mean, what if only one person actually existed, and we’re all supporting characters in that person’s life? I get it, we’re all existing, living and experiencing our own different realities. But what if, this is all as a result of what the only existing mind conjured up? Technically, we’re living that person’s imagination, and because that’s how our existence has been structured from the beginning, it’s now our lives.

While this thought process relates to solipsism in psychology, they’re two different things. This isn’t main character syndrome in anyway. It’s simply just wondering if that existed, and if it actually did, it doesn’t have to be just my mind that exists. This line of thought, has been with me for a long time now, and it feels good sharing it with a wider audience other than my diary.

You know, there’s so much out there, that we do not know. The human mind is so fascinating. It could come up with literally anything, as long as you let it wander, and you feed your brain information. When you are informed, you question things. In questioning things, you get to know. In knowing, you get to decide whether the system is worth continuing or needs changing.

Now, I’m beginning to sound more serious than I intended this post to be, so I might just as well end this here. It’s 12:54am. Safe to say, I’ve thought again tonight (in the making of this post).

Merry Christmas🎄💕
