Para el día de hoy y siendo viernes e inicio del fin de semana, quise hacer una ilustración más sencilla... bueno, realmente había estado pasando por una migraña terrible y no podía casi mirar la pantalla para dibujar porque la luz me hacía doler más la cabeza, así que opté por uno de los sketches que tuviera menos colores para poder trabajarlo de manera más rápida.
A pesar que Sebastian Michaelis, personaje del anime Kuroshitsuji, tiene muy pocos colores en su diseño comparado con otros personajes más vistosos, puse mayor atención y cuidado al sombreado. Algo sencillo no necesariamente tiene que ir ligado a poca calidad.
Sebastian tiene una piel bastante pálida, no sé si esto fue para acentuar su naturaleza ya que es un demonio o para contrastar con su vestimenta. Casi siempre en las historias shounen, el personaje principal es un poco bronceado, como para indicar que es un personaje aventurero. No es una regla escrita en el shounen pero sí una tendencia. Podemos notar esto en personajes como Seiya, Koji Kabuto, Inuyasha, etc., donde los personajes son bastante dinámicos e incluso un tanto irreverentes y de espíritu indomable.
Trabajé las sombras para darle mayor volumen a su musculatura, ya que Sebastian es un personaje bastante delgado y así, aunque no tenga una masa muscular muy desarrollada, se resalta más.
Para crear contraste, usé de fondo el color vino tinto. Este suele ser un color bastante elegante, como lo es Sebastian y a la vez, el color rojo se suele asociar con la representación de demonios por su tono cálido.

A pesar de lo simple, me gustó el resultado final y pude cumplir mi objetivo diario a pesar de la migraña. Cuando me ataca, me hace sentir frustrada por no poder producir la misma cantidad que podría en condiciones normales sin embargo, a pesar de eso no puedo dejar de hacer aunque sea un boceto diario. Ya se ha vuelto parte de mi rutina y algo que disfruto aún con el malestar.
Afortunadamente, ya hoy está pasando y espero que mañana haya terminado completamente.

For today, being Friday and the start of the weekend, I wanted to create a simpler illustration… well, I had actually been suffering from a terrible migraine and could hardly look at the screen to draw because the light made my head hurt more, so I opted for one of the sketches that had fewer colors to work on it more quickly.
Although Sebastian Michaelis, a character from the anime Kuroshitsuji, has very few colors in his design compared to other more vibrant characters, I paid more attention and care to the shading. Something simple does not necessarily have to be linked to low quality.
Sebastian has quite pale skin; I don’t know if this was to accentuate his nature as a demon or to contrast with his clothing. Almost always in shounen stories, the main character is somewhat tanned, as if to indicate that he is an adventurous character. It's not a written rule in shounen, but it is a trend. We can see this in characters like Seiya, Koji Kabuto, Inuyasha, etc., where the characters are quite dynamic and even somewhat irreverent with an indomitable spirit.
I worked on the shadows to give more volume to his musculature since Sebastian is quite a slender character, and this way, even though he doesn’t have very developed muscle mass, it stands out more.
To create contrast, I used burgundy as the background color. This is often quite an elegant color, like Sebastian, and at the same time, the color red is often associated with the representation of demons because of its warm tone.

Despite its simplicity, I liked the final result and was able to meet my daily goal despite the migraine. When it attacks, it makes me feel frustrated for not being able to produce the same amount I could under normal conditions; however, despite that, I can’t stop doing at least a daily sketch. It has become part of my routine and something I enjoy even with discomfort.
Fortunately, it’s passing today, and I hope that by tomorrow it will be completely gone.
