A Day to remember childhood| Aunt's home

in Throwback Thursday2 days ago (edited)

Weeks ago, we decided to go to our Aunt's home. A new baby girl arrived their home. My mother was eager and excited to see and gift that baby.
It's a tradition that whenever a new baby borns, relatives visit that home with gifts and blessings.

Aunt's home is located in the same city but it has distance of almost an hour from our home. Papa was driving car, Talha, my younger brother, was sitting on the front seat. I was sitting on the back seat along with my mama and my younger sister.
My papa gave me money to buy some fruits. I bought and then we stopped our car infront of the door.

It was the evening time when birds were going back to their homes. It was the time when sun was dropping down in the ocean of the sea and moon was sailing towards the night sky. It was the time which was stuck in limbo.
Evening was pigmented..... I mean sky was blushing with golden hues. This was giving nice vibe to air.

I greeted everyone's at home. Everyone was saying; "Taha, you came after ages... You are like moon of festive season".

I greeted them and hugged them. Nice to talk to everyone. I have special bond with my aunt. Even, we all siblings have very memorable connection with aunt.
I remember the time when we used to go to our maternal grandparents. At their home, we used to play so much with our aunt. It was the bestest time. It was the time when aunt used to make different food items for us on our mild request. It was the time when aunt used to make swing for us to play.
My grandmother used to run a local shop in the village. We always remain stuffed in the shop and we were expert in stealing things from grandmother's shop. In all these actions, our aunt was helpful. She was our crime partner.... 😂.

There are so many incidents of childhood which are memorable. In those days, i was not into studies that much... Although, still, i am not into it. So, my aunt always helped me to write my home work. Even she did so much drawing home work of my class.
Now, time has changed a lot. My aunt became a wife, a woman and a mother. Still, she treats us nicely. She is lively and makes joke with us. We all laugh hard on her jokes.
She made really delicious food items for us. She does magic with food. After all, she is sister of my mother 😉.

Her home is beautiful in nicer way. Aunt's home reminds me of old time. It reminds me of my maternal grandparents home. Actually, this home is located in a pure village. That's why it's beautiful and looks organic.

With my curious mindset and eager eyes, i was observing the area, village and home. It can be a set of an old film of 90's era with nostalgic songs.
In the street, children were playing cricket and some people were standing, talking and walking.

After a little stroll of outside, i went up stairs. I went on the terrace. On one side of stairs, there is rooftop of kitchen. This rooftop is similar of the rooftop of my old home. We also had rooftop of mud. On this rooftop, a pitcher to fill water, a broken cycle, a broken door, some woods were resting. A reminder that people live in this home. Ooooo beautiful 😍 ❤️.

This is a home of village and i hold ultimate love for this sort of simplistic, humanistic and organic homes.

In cities, these cycles became endangered. Infact, children and kids became addicted to online games. Kids are no more interested in cycling or any physical plays. They are sticky to phones. But, these old things reminds me of my memorable and irreversible time of my livelihood... Childhood.

On the rooftop, there was another broken wooden door. This wooden door is also almost extinct. These doors are specific to Punjab culture and tradition but now people are attached to pretentious things. People are shifting away from their culture.

This culture and tradition will be missed. These broken, worn out and rough things on the rooftop are narrating stories of their time. They are narrating that people are leaving their values, customs and traditions.
It's hurting. It will hurt and people will soon become artificial same like robots. What's your view?

See you next 🌺

What a wonderful blog, Taha. I enjoyed it very much. It feels so intimate and I loved the photos. Especially the ones where you're standing in the doorway.
People will change but there will be others like you who remind us that there is an essence that deserves to be preserved.
How lovely, how lovely. I am touched by your words.
