Hayle Delight.

in Drone5 months ago

Hi everyone, back with more content from Cornwall.

Hayle town is built at the end of an estuary and has expanded along it towards the ocean.
It has two beaches, one either side of the river. When the tide is low, so much sand is exposed that it is possible to walk through the shallows on what is essentially the river bed to cross to the other side.

A shot from the take off location.

The next sequence of images was taken from roughly the same point in the air and shows the sun slowly setting over St Ives in the distance. As I saw the cloud moving in, I was pleasantly surprised by the resulting sunset. The sun would peep through gaps in the cloud layers and the reflection on the surface of the water was mesmerising.
You could almost walk to the neighbouring Carbis Bay to the west (just about visible on the left of the following images) save for some jagged cliffs which form a narrow part of the coastal path towards St Ives.

This 360 mini planet is above the estuary, the amount of sand is apparent! The darker areas show how far the sea comes in at high tide.

Last image looking back at the town of Hayle with its many camping sites along edges of the cliffs.

Speaking of which, the camp sites are the only built structures anywhere near this part of the coast. There are carparks at each end of the beach and the majority of the times I visited here, not many people ventured to the middle so it was quite peaceful at peak times. The evenings were very serene.

Until the next time, take care!

Nice sunsets. We had a glorious sunrise here over the beach (according to the web cam feed), but I've not been up and out early enough to catch them anytime recently. One of these days... lol

Sunrise timings in summer isn't the one for me, later in the year it happens at a reasonable hour xD
