En esta oportunidad permítanme presentarles una de las muchas historias que nos cuenta Herodoto en el libro que hemos venido estudiando llamado los nueve libros de la historia. La intencionalidad de este relato surge dado a que este año el 8 de abril de 2024 ocurrió un fenómeno natural que pudo ser visto por muchas de las personas que se encontraban en la región de Norteamérica. Me refiero al eclipse solar, un suceso que ocurre según la nasa aproximadamente cada 3 años en promedio, sin embargo no suelen ser visibles desde el mismo lugar en la tierra.
In this opportunity let me present one of the many stories that Herodotus tells us in the book that we have been studying called the nine books of history. The intentionality of this story arises because this year on April 8, 2024 a natural phenomenon occurred that could be seen by many of the people who were in the region of North America. I am referring to the solar eclipse, an event that occurs according to NASA approximately every 3 years on average, however they are not usually visible from the same place on earth.
De hecho se estima que la próxima oportunidad que tendremos para presenciarlo será en el 12 de agosto del 2026, y podrá verse en su totalidad desde España, Groenlandia, Islandia y Rusia. Por tal motivo me pareció un poco oportuno hablarles sobre una de las historias que nos narra Herodoto, en el libro el cual hemos estado analizando en los videos anteriores, este relato al cual me refiero es conocido como la batalla del eclipse o la batalla de rio Halis hecho ocurrido el 28 de marzo de 585.

stify">Por lo tanto, en este video abordaremos los antecedentes de dicho suceso esto quiere decir: primeros, quienes fueron los bandos involucrados; segundo, cuáles eran los motivos de la rivalidad, luego como influyo el fenómeno del eclipse en dicha discordia y hasta que punto condicionó este suceso a aquellas culturas que fueron testigos directos de tan magnifico y aterrador acontecimiento.
Therefore, in this video we will address the background of this event that means: first, who were the sides involved, second, what were the reasons for the rivalry, then how the phenomenon of the eclipse influenced in this discord and to what extent this event conditioned those cultures that were direct witnesses of such a magnificent and terrifying event.
Cabe resaltar de dicho relato como mente humana reacciona ante los sucesos que se escapan tanto de su imaginación como de su comprensión. Y como se esfuerza por dar una interpretación objetiva o no sobre lo que ocurre en su entorno únicamente para saciar su percepción de seguridad y confort. De los relatos de sucesos de este estilo es que suelen luego surgir los mitos creencias y tradiciones que terminan fundamentando el folklore e idiosincrasia de cada uno de nuestros pueblos. Los cuales a simple vistas se nos antojan tan distintos y a su vez en el fondo nos vuelve tan inevitablemente humanos.
It is worth noting how the human mind reacts to events that escape both his imagination and his understanding. And how it strives to give an objective interpretation or not of what is happening in its environment only to satiate its perception of security and comfort. From the stories of events of this style, myths, beliefs and traditions that end up being the basis of the folklore and idiosyncrasy of each of our peoples usually emerge. Which at first glance seem so different and at the same time, deep down, make us so inevitably human.
