Reflecting On My Poetry World

Poetry is a imaginative emotional response to pleasure or thoughts. Poetry existed a long time ago, most historical books like the Bible and Quran have poetry also in them. Poetry can be seen as a way to express our idealistic and realistic thoughts towards something or someone so people to understand our Values or our desirability in that particular thing, person, or people.

To me, I believe everyone can write poems but there are levels to writing poems. I have written some fiction and nonfiction stories in which through my thoughts and feelings I was able to pinpoint some inspiring poems, they sound good because it’s relate to my thoughts but to the reader, they might not sound too good, it takes continuous practice and gradual growth to be a good poem writer.

I love writing poetry as it helps to beautify a story and also makes it interesting. Poetry helps to make fiction or nonfiction come alive and helps deepen our thoughts to intensify its themes. I believe poetry is inspired by pain, Love, Loss, and several other factors

My Best Inspiring Poetry writer is “William Shakespeare”, in my early school days. We were taught literature and we were also fortunate to have read some of William Shakespeare's novels. My literature teacher loved William Shakespeare's novels then and she made us believe we can’t be a complete writer without understanding or reading more of William Shakespeare's novels. William Shakespeare is known as one of the greatest poetry writers ever. William Shakespeare was born in 1516 and died in the year 1616.

During my early school days, we focused more on two of his books which are “Othello” and “Romeo and Juliet”. The story Othello centers around a black man (Othello) who is married to a white woman and is also a military officer the major scene is between Othello and Lago, who bears a grudge against Othello and wants to destroy his relationship with his white wife Desdemona. This grudge emanated when Cassio was promoted over Lago and then Lago wanted to destroy Othello's life by lieing that Cassio was sleeping with Desdemona Othello's wife.

The story Romeo and Juliet is centered around two powerful families who have been fighting for a long time and then Romeo and Juliet were from the two opposite families but they fell in love with each other. Tragedy, misunderstanding, pain, and death followed their relationship. Unfortunately, the two lovers Romeo and Juliet took poison because they were not allowed to be together and their end of life courses their families to mark reconciliation of the two families.

I have been inspired by these two books of several inspirations for writing poetry. I believe Williams Shakespeare to be the greatest poetry writer in history to date. Through his novels, I understood that poetry can be written through pain, love, feelings, thoughts, sight, and several other factors. To be a good poetry writer comes with a lot of practice and experience or an idealistic mind.
