Regarding cloning, it is clear that the fundamental principle is organ replacement, i.e. the clone would be made when needed, but the experiments aim to clone specifically the needed organ (something like the 3D printer with which custom-made prostheses are currently being made...), by no means overpopulating the earth. And in relation to eternal life, that's not exactly how it's put forward, there's a lot to be cut out there... I'll write something about it.
