The Calm Before the Next War.

After escaping the enemy ship, the Guardians regrouped aboard the Milano and confronted the fallout of Gamora's solo pursuit of Raker. Her return confirmed the threat was far from over. With Nikki still captive and new enemies closing in, the team prepared for another desperate fight.

After narrowly escaping the enemy ship, the Guardians regrouped on the Milano. The mood was heavy as the team discussed Gamora, who had stayed behind to pursue Raker on her own. Peter and Rocket engaged in a particularly difficult conversation

The tension was suddenly broken when a severed hand, belonging to Raker, thudded onto the table. Gamora had returned to the team, and while she acted a bit rough and guarded at first, she genuinely appreciated that the team had trusted her enough to let her finish her hunt alone.

As Rocket began examining the hand, Gamora admitted that she had ultimately failed to kill Raker. Since he was still alive, she insisted they needed to turn back immediately, as they couldn't afford to leave Nikki in the clutches of the Church.

Rocket started acting surprisingly selfless, which was so out of character that it actually made the rest of the team feel uneasy. Realizing everyone was at their breaking point, they decided to take a much-needed rest to clear their heads before the next move.

I was given the choice to either talk to the crew or head to the cockpit to call Cosmo. I decided to head straight for the cockpit. On my way there, I caught a funny moment where Rocket was trying to shoo the Space Llama out of his way. Even in a crisis, the ship's "pets" still caused trouble.

We got Cosmo on the comms, but the powerful space-canine sounded genuinely terrified. He revealed that the Universal Church of Truth had already arrived at Knowhere. After a brief, frantic conversation, Cosmo suggested that the Guardians head to Xandar to ask the Worldmind for help.

Before we could jump, several spaceships confronted us. A creepy man named Captain Glory appeared on the screen, identifying himself as the leader of the Lethal Legion. He explained that Lady Hellbender had put a bounty on our heads and he was here to collect.

While I kept Captain Glory busy in conversation, Rocket secretly upgraded the Milano's weapon systems using the illegal contraband he had hidden away. It was a move that finally paid off. With the ship powered up, the Guardians prepared for a massive space battle against the Legion.
