The Bridge to Nowhere.

in Gaming Photography16 days ago

I met up with John at Bacchus Bridge to prep a major explosion. We moved dynamite by rail while Arthur urged John to find a better life for his family. After carefully rigging the pillars over a massive drop, the quiet work was cut short by a train charging toward us.

I finally made it to Bacchus Bridge and saw John already working. He was busy pulling crates of dynamite out of a wagon. It looked like heavy, dangerous work, and you can see him moving the explosives carefully.

I jumped in to help him out. The loaded the crates onto a small rail carrier. While they worked, Arthur started talking to John about the future. He told John he should leave this life behind and take his family somewhere safe to start over. It was a serious moment between them while they prepped for a big blast.

Once everything was loaded, they both hopped on the carrier. We had to pump the handle to move it down the tracks toward the center of the bridge. This is where we planned to set the charges. You can see us moving along the high tracks, getting into position.

As we got closer to the middle, I couldn't help but look around. The view from up there was amazing. You can see the huge waterfalls and the river rushing way down below. It's easy to forget how dangerous the job is when the scenery looks that good.

We reached the spot and John climbed down onto the lower beams of the bridge. He called up to me to start sending the dynamite down. I used a rope to lower the crates one by one so he could set them in the right places. We had to be steady so nothing dropped into the water.

After I lowered all the dynamite, John shouted for me to join him on the lower beams. I had to climb down carefully to help him get the actual work started. Standing on those narrow supports with the wind blowing and the river far below made the whole thing feel much more real.

We split up to cover more ground. I grabbed the charges and started fixing them to the main pillars on my side of the bridge while John worked on the opposite end. It was quiet, steady work, and we were making good progress getting everything rigged up for the big blast.

John finished his side first and climbed back up, but as I was finishing, he suddenly started screaming at the top of his lungs. He was waving his arms and telling me to get up right that second. I looked up and realized a train was barreling down the tracks straight toward us.

Here I'm finishing the post for today, and I'll talk about more special RDR 2 gaming moments in Gaming Photography.

Seeing Arthur and John working together like this is bittersweet. You can really feel Arthur's desperation to make sure John doesn't end up like the rest of the gang. Great job capturing the beauty of the waterfalls. It is hard to stay focused on the dynamite when the game looks that stunning, but you managed both perfectly.

Thanks for commenting. I tried my best.
