Next thing you know your boy will switch from vodka to whiskey. Somehow we inherit our parents' traits.
I do enjoy the custom traditions and have seen many young people participating throughout the country. So I bet there is hope for the local morris dancers where you are too 🙂
I think with young people the getting drunk can take priority over quality, but he's fairly sensible.
I have a friend who is a morris dancer and he says recruitment is an issue. Folk music is still popular, but the dancing may be more niche. Not every tradition can last forever, but at least they will be recorded these days.
