WELCOME MURAL LOVERS
Behold: The Phoenix
Here's a really nice and big illusion of a ship between buildings on a wall near the River Spree in Berlin i'm walking by pretty often and now it's time to share it with you. What i could find about it with a little research is that it was created in 1989 by an artist named Gert Neuhaus together with Christine Neuhaus, Dirk Herzog und Heinrich Butler and was inspired by "The Berliners' longing for the water". The first photo shows the mural in context with the street where it's located and one can see how the facade is continued nicely in the picture to create it's illusionary effect. The second photo is a close up shot for enjoying the details and the third photo shows the back of the house and how the illusion is continued there. While researching the mural, I discovered that there are several other artworks by Gert Neuhaus throughout Berlin that I've already seen. What a nice surprise!
EDIT: I added a fourth photo from the riverside including the River Spree for a little more context about how close this mural lives to the water.

Wahoo impressive mural with this effect. It is necessary to concentrate on what is real and what is painted for the building. Well executed. Thanks for sharing these pics on The StreetArt Community.
