Here my entry for the CCC's Street Art Contest #73 with a very colorful wall done by Mastrocola on the Duluth street in Montreal. We immediately recognize his style with these waves of colors.

Mastrocola

Born in 1986 in Montreal, Philippe Mastrocola is a graffiti artist, photographer and painter. Early, he met Waster12 street artist who gave him the taste for Street Art. Around 2010, he stopped doing lettering and painted very colorful abstract forms as you can see in this mural. His works are in many cities in North America like New York, Detroit, Chicago, Miami, Atlanta and obviously Montreal. Now, Philippe Mastrocola paints more canvases but still makes some walls.

The first version of Lignes et Couleurs was painted in 2012, and often Philippe Mastrocola had to repaint his work to counter the passage of time and tags. This is the current version with the addition at the back of the building in the alley.

I thought I had already written a post about this artist but no... I had forgotten to name him in my previous post Street Art #199. It was a wall done with artist Melsa Montagne in 2018 on Rachel Street in Montreal as well.

Very interesting pieces, I particularly like the face on the last shot. Very cool. 😎

A lot of colors, it's cool especially in winter because the streets are white and the sky grey.
