Any light house is usually a great spot for a few photos. This one at Tacking Point 8 kilometers south of Port Macquarie is no exception. It was build in 1879 and is the thirteenth oldest in Australia. Stilling working and classified by the National Trust. About halfway between Sydney and Brisbane on Australia's East Coast it is a popular stop over when road tripping.
You could walk for miles on light house beach but it was getting a little late in the afternoon and we had other places to be.
I like that it is still functional but kept as original as possible.
Tacking point takes its name from the famous explorer who apparently changed the direction of his ship at this headland.
The old Lighthouse Keepers Cottage or what is left of it.
Little Bay.
Port Macquarie also has a parkrun we did it in 2019
Also back in 2019 the day after the parkrun I did an Ironman event here. A 3.8 kilometer swim.
then the 180 kilometer bike ride, I was still smiling at this point but it would soon disappear until I finally finished.
And a 42 kilometer run with a lot of walking. It took me all day and then some. I have to thank @consciouscat for waiting for me and a triathlon club mate for taking this photo just before the finish line.
A lot slower than I was hoping for but always good just to finish.
But luckily for me no long distance event on this day just a takeaway burger with a great view sheltering from the wind.

Thank you for sharing on this interesting place. Lighthouses are nice places to visit and I like the scenic coastline. Have a great day.
