China town and Central markets, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

in TravelFeed8 months ago

Every major city seems to have a China town and so far on our travels all of them have been worth visiting. We had spent the morning checking out KLCC park and the patrons towers. Then we were on a free local tourist bus heading for China town and the markets. The free bus was packed full of people and the public holiday traffic made it a very slow short ride. So slow we decided to get off and walk from Bukit Bintang ”The high end shopping centre” It was about 2 kilometres and was very hot and humid but it was better than the bus.

It was easy to find the way we were basically heading for the big sky scrapper.

Merdeka 118 sky scrapper which is the second tallest building in the world. Merdeka means Independence and it was designed to resemble the Malaysian leader in 1957 chanting Merdeka with his hand up in the air.

The Dayabumi Complex building, I really like the arches and angles so very different to the designs of building we get back home.

Most of the markets were under cover but just as we had finished right on que the sky’s darkened and there was this tropical down pour, which made it hard to get a taxi but it was not too long before we were on our way back to our accommodation without getting soaking wet.
