Paradisiacal trip to Las Terrazas and Soroa. Visit to the Soroa Orchidarium

in TravelFeed3 months ago

Warm greetings to all of you. I have already made some posts of my epic trip to Las Terrazas and Soroa, in western Cuba, where I visited many lovely places. My trip was like eating a box of chocolates, one of those delicious ones that always leave you wanting more, or well, at least that's how it happens to me hahaha. And the thing is that when it comes to traveling, as well as with chocolate, I declare myself totally guilty of being an addict and without the right to bail. In this post I want to tell you a little more about my trip and about a wonderful place I visited and I have yet to tell you about: the Soroa orchid farm.

The day of the excursion, my friends and I got up very early, because the transportation would pick us up at 5:00 in the morning. We even created a Whatsapp group to stay in touch so that no one would fall asleep or be left behind. Thank God, we were all punctually at the agreed time. It could not be otherwise, because if there was something we shared that early morning, it was the excitement of knowing a new place, surrounded by natural beauty, or at least that's how we imagined it. I say "imagined" because the reality ended up being much better than we expected.

The trip was very pleasant, with laughter and chats, even though sleep was lurking, because we had all gotten up very early. Logically no one fell asleep on the way, because I repeat, travel is like chocolate, it activates you and wakes you up, but in a very pleasant way. As I told you in other publications, I visited several places of tourist interest. I was in Las Terrazas, there I saw the lake where you can go boating, I did canopy at 30 meters high and I was able to visit the little house of Polo Montañez.

Then we stopped at a small ranchón where my friends and I had lunch together, and while we were there we sang happy birthday to Lynne, a friend of the group who had a birthday. It was a very joyful and emotional moment. Then, we took the bus back to Soroa, where we were able to visit an incredible place: the orchid garden. There, a very kind and charismatic guide took care of us and gave us a tour with a lot of emotion and commitment, despite the heat and the fact that he had probably already given the same speech to several people before. But he still guided us with all the joy and alacrity that I am sure he must have done with his first clients.

I found that admirable, and it is another pleasant memory and learning that I took with me that day. Life is like a journey where the quality and enjoyment of the journey depends only on ourselves. We may sometimes be tired along the way, but being positive and putting passion and good humor into life will make us true guides to a happy destination for ourselves, and a source of inspiration for those around us.

In the orchid garden there were numerous varieties of orchids, all different, although some were similar to each other. But if there was one thing they had in common, it was that they were all too beautiful. I caught a whiff of some of them and I can say that the scent was incredible. The sensory experience is on another level, being able to witness at the same time, a bombardment of beautiful shapes and colors, unique and pleasant fragrances that delight not only the senses but also the soul.

I have an orchid planted at home, I am anxiously waiting for it to bloom so I can enjoy its beauty as much as I did that day at the orchid garden. And you, have you already visited the orchid garden in Soroa? What are you waiting for? A big hug to all of you. Thanks for reading me!!!
