A DAY WITH MUTHU ANNAN

in TravelFeed2 days ago

Hello everyone, this is my first post in this community @TravelFeed. About me, am a civil engineer currently working in Munnar, kerala, who loves traveling and exploring alot. So i thought this is the perfect spot to post my travelling blogs. I know that i am late to post my first post here but better late than never right..

In this post am gonna share with you all about me and Muthu Annan exploring the mysterious pallivasal mountains. Muthu Annan is native to Munnar and he is a worker in my construction site.( Annan is the tamil word for brother, he is from tamil nadu but currently settled in kerala )

I used to travel alot but covid and travel banns restricted me from exploring new lands and terrains. But these didnt held me back. I thought of exploring places near my working site. So one day i called Muthu Annan and i told him that i want to go somewhere more thrilling and exciting. He told me that he will take me to the Pallivasl mountains. So we planned to go to the mountains on the next day itself.

our journey to the mysterious pallivasla mountains

Muthu Annan leading the way

We started our journey at 9.00 am. Before entering in to the forest, Muthu Annan explained me about the rules of the forest and warned me about the risks and dangers.
He told me that we have to climb mountains without any safety equipments, have to walk through clifs, and there is also possible chance to encounter wildanimals. If you are a traveller or explorer, you have have to face challenges right ..

I listened everything Muthu Annan said like a 10 year old boy cause i know that this man knows these forests and mountains like the back of his hand. We started climbing through the forest. It was so difficult for me to walk through the thorny bushes. But Muthu Annan walked through it like it was nothing.

Muthu Annan clearing the path for me

After walking through the unforgiving bushes for like 20 mimutes, we reached the bottom of the Pallivasal mountain. I was relieved cause no more thorny bushes..yeaa.... But Muthu Annan told me that the real risky journey begins from now onwards.

We then walked through the tall grass field. It was so quiet and peaceful there. The only sound that i could hear were the sounds of birds and of the breeze. As we moved forward the height of the grass increased and the grass literally covered us.

The difficulty reached a whole new level when we started our mount climbing. Without any safety ropes we started climbing. Muthu Annan was so caring and he always looked back to see how am doing.

This man is like 65 years old, but i cant even keep up with his pace in which he is climbing this terrifying mountain.

We continued our climbing through cliffs and edges of the mountain.

While climbing, he told me almost everything about this mountain and the wildlife residing there. He showed me a cave there and while i was looking the cave, he spotted me some old bones. He told me it is the bones of wild buffalo. And he told that it may be the work of hunters. I felt so sad and angry. How can anyone do this kind of cruel thing to these stunning animals.

And after continuing our climbing for another 10 minutes we reached the top of the pallivasal mountain. It was breathtaking. On reaching the top i really wished i had a good camera cause the photos that i took with my phone didnt even captured a 10 percentage of its real scenic beauty. While Muthu Annan was searching for some medicinal plant, i took some photos of the orchids, fruits and other flowers on the top of the mountain.

With all those amazing scenic views, medicinal plants, flowers and fruits, the top of pallivasal mountain is really a paradise.

While Muthu Annan collected some medicinal plants from the top. I sat there and just enjoyed the spectacular view offered by the mother nature. After spending some quality time at the top we decided to return back.

Muthu Annan with his medicinal plants

This was not the end of our journey. Now we have to climb all the way down and it was more dangerous than climbing up. So Muthu Annan took me through a different route. Before climbing down Annan offered me water from a naturally formed spring pool. And i will tell you, that water is the best water that i have ever tasted.

But this route was so slippery and i did ffell down a couple of times while cclimbing down. Luckily for me nothing happened, other than some bruises and wounds.

While climbing down i saw some egg shells. I dont know what happened but i hope the baby bird is ok.

It was really tough for Muthu Annan to climb down with medicinal plants in one hand. But he did it like a champ.

A day full of excitement and thrill. I will never forget that day and the man who made this possible Muthu Annnan. Eventhough i had some wounds and bruises, it was worth it.

Inorder to remember Palivasl mountain, i got a gift from its top. Its a porcupine quill, that i found at the top of the mountain. I took it home and now am gonna keep it. And whenever i look at it, the adventure that i had with Muthu Annan will come to me like a flash.

I took all these photos with my phone. And is really very tough to take photos while climbing. So i know that some of these photos lack clarity. Hope you all like it. I do travel alot and you can find interesting travel blogs in my hive account. In the coming days, i would love to share some amazing travel blogs with you all.
