Hello to all hivians and today I start my new travel post. All my readers know that I was in Greece, but I talked about only one place here. It was Kiato, but now I will tell you my impressions of Athens, the capital of Greece. Here is the famous Acropolis (but maybe it is not so famous, it is just for a lot of literature 😅). If anyone doesn't know, it's a huge, fascinating and impressive palace (of course it's in ruins because it was a long time ago) built for kings.
So, from the very beginning, we arrived in our area of Athens, and headed among the streets, to our house. Finally, we found the location of our apartment on Google Maps, and entered. After taking a shower and relaxing a little, we went to the center of Athens on the very first day so as not to waste time.
During this time that we were looking for our apartment, we noticed one unique curiosity that is only here. Balconies with canopies hanging over the long street upwards. They are very atmospheric. Especially when you get up in the morning and drink coffee here. After all, we settled in an apartment with a balcony too! It was very cozy there! And now we continue about the city center.
Our house was located in a completely different part than the city center. We crossed the road and continued through the streets. We bought ice cream on the way. By the way, I tried pineapple and apricot ice cream here for the first time! And finally the center of the city, and we see this mighty building on the rise called the Acropolis. But don't even think that if I write so much about this place, we will go there! No! Do you know why? Because we decided that exploring the streets would be more interesting than walking through the ruins!
Also in this city we met with the hyvian @orestistrips. He gave us a wonderful tour of his city. So some of these photos were taken with him. We started with a walk in the park. There were a lot of interesting things here, like a sundial. It was very well designed and it was very interesting to look at it. Further in the row, tall palm trees were planted, which were twice as big as I always see!
There were also beautiful trimmed bushes that grew in flower beds. It was a very nice cultural park. There were also small waterfalls with ponds in beautiful arches with fish. And now we have arrived at our destination! It was a huge stadium for the Olympic Games! But it was unfortunately forbidden to enter there. But it is simply huge! Impressive! There are millions of seats for people who watch the action from above during the competition. We took a couple of photos here and headed to our next destination.
It was already dark, and the sunset appeared. It was pink in color, very beautiful. Along the long road, we saw a large fountain lit up in white. It was very nice. We also saw a beautiful beige retro car near the fountain. Of course I wanted to take a picture with her 😁. Finally, after a long journey, a BENCH!!! My legs couldn't take it anymore! But we must keep going.
By the way, as you could see in the photos, I have the style of a Greek girl. Dress and laurel wreath. How do you like it? Let's not dwell on this and move on to the road. We finally arrived at our second destination downtown. This is the entrance to the Museum of Athens. But it is the "entrance". Because here you can see incredible excavated ruins hidden under glass. And you can also stand on them. Because the floor is made of glass, and the ruins are right under it.
By the way, this is not only the case near the museum. You can go into the entrance, and see the ruins under the glass there too. This is because excavations are sometimes done when a house is being built. And in order not to bury it, they make such a system. And that's all for now. I will tell you that Athens is an incredible architectural and ancient city!
Bye bye everyone! 😁🌳
