RE: Airport winners and losers during my recent travel from Asia to Mexico. Loser: LAX

Dang, that sounds absolutely horrible. Hopefully that's the worst thing you have to go through on the way home and it is behind you now. If my wife and I ever make the trip to Hawaii, I will have to be sure to avoid that airport! I know I flew into San Francisco one time, but it was a whirlwind and I don't remember any of it now.

Sort:

Alaskan Airlines took over the Hawaiian airlines at LAX and i've read they have been trying very hard to make it work so that Americans at least, do not have to leave their terminal. It would depend I guess on whether or not Alaskan flies out of wherever you are. If they do then that might be ok.

from what I have read previously the Hawaiian gate was in the international terminal, which makes no sense because the last time I looked Hawaii was still the United States.

I'm not sure if Alaskan flies out of Detroit as that is probably where we would be flying out of on a trip that big. We have a small regional airport down the road from where I live, but the rates are usually quite a bit more and your only choices are Delta and United which is fine since I prefer Delta. That is pretty weird that they would send Hawaiian passengers through the international terminal.

I was quite impressed with Alaskan. They are the number 1 rated USA airline last I checked, and they deserve it.

Interesting! I will tuck that little nugget of info away for future use!
