Diabetes is on the rise in Corona

The relationship between corona and diabetes is quite complex. But the two diseases may be related to each other. The reason, scientists say, is that the coronavirus usually infects pancreatic cells. This disrupts the normal supply of insulin in the body.

Many of the children affected by corona are later developing type-2 or type 1 diabetes. The US Central Command for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said in a study released on Friday.

According to Forbes News, the number of children with type 1 diabetes in Europe is increasing due to the Corona epidemic. Previous research has shown that corona-later adults are more likely to develop diabetes.

The study was conducted by IQVIA, a US healthcare organization. Health Variety, an organization that works with patient information, assists in this.
In the study, IQVIA collected samples from 16 million children. And Health Variety takes 9 lakh samples.

The IQVIA says that within 30 days of recovering from a corona infection, the risk of developing diabetes almost tripled. And children who have not had coronary heart disease but are suffering from respiratory complications are twice as likely to develop diabetes as coronary heart disease.
According to Health Variety, 31 out of every 100 children infected with corona have been diagnosed with diabetes.

Research shows that the relationship between corona and diabetes is quite complex. But the two diseases may be related to each other. The reason, scientists say, is that the corona virus usually infects pancreatic cells. This disrupts the normal supply of insulin in the body.

The head of the research team, Sharon Sedah, told the New York Times on Friday that it was not clear whether children with type 2 diabetes would suffer long-term coronary heart disease or whether insulin supply would return to normal over time.
