Hello Human Hivers,
As you can see Iโve been experimenting with this Japanese dish ๐ฏ๐ต called Okonomiyaki . According to my wife, this is the best one she has tasted so far. Want to find out what we did? Read on my friend...
Okonomiyaki ใๅฅฝใฟ็ผใ Ingredients
Okonomiyaki flour
Water
Eggs
Shredded cabbage
Bacon ๐ฅ
Olive oil
Okonomiyaki sauce
Mayonnaise
Step 1
Put the flour in a mixing bowl. Beat the eggs and mix them in the flour. Add the shredded cabbage and water. Mix again. Cut bacon into small strips and add it to the mixture.
Step 2
Heat pan (hot plate) and base with olive oil. Pour mixture in hot plate. After one side is done, turn the okonomiyaki on the other side and cook until done.
Step 3
Fold the Okonomiyaki in halves twice for four layers. Then slice and serve.
Step 4
Pour Okonomiyaki sauce on each serving and add mayonnaise based on your preference. One of our sons doesn't like mayonnaise. Here is the sample serving for four. Try not to eat your screen.
Evaluation
The proof of the okonomiyaki is in the tasting and the fact that the boys and my wife wanted seconds made me happy. Using the fork to cut through four layers of this delicious Okonomiyaki felt great.
Thank you for reading this post. Have a great weekend and as always Stay connected, stay blessed.

So itโs only the shape thatโs different? ๐Good going my bro ๐
Hey bro @missaj . I think this version is more like a fritter but a lot softer. So the texture is different too. I wonder if @dmilliz is an okonomiyaki man?
You know I'm not a big fan. But it's fun to make. Takoyaki is another fun one to make, can put all kinds a thing it too.
Yeah the whole family can share in this cooking experience for sure. Takoyaki is another good one bro. @dmilliz Have you tried making it with your boys?
I've seen okonomiyaki with a round shape like an omelet. It's my first time seeing a shape like yours. It looks delicious :)
Hello @anggreklestari. Yes, you are correct. The normal shape is round. This version is the result of my experiment. The texture is different as well. Do you think I should register it as bearmol shaped Okonomiyaki or Okonomiyaki bearmol style ? Lol ๐คฃ
Hello @bearmol. The dish looks really nice. Is it sort of like a quiche? I see the dish has it's own flour and sauce. The recipe looks simple enough and the fact that you cook it on top of the stove in a hot plate is even better. No hot oven.
Why didn't you use this dish or the other one for the September No-Buy Month recipe?
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for your kind words @justclickindiva.
>Why didn't you use this dish or the other one for the September No-Buy Month recipe?<
You know the thought never occurred to me to enter this in the September No-Buy Month recipe. Now that you mention it I could have for sure. Ah well maybe next time.
I entered my Curry Chicken Salad recipe and won some SPI. I try not to miss any opportunity to get some nice Tokens.
Take care.
And SPI is definitely a nice token
Oh wow! Yours looks very different than the one I tried, but I remember how delicious it was. It looks like you enjoyed yours too!
I think the difference is ours wasn't folded over, it was just a flat one layer, like a pizza.
Yeah there are actually two main types here. One from Osaka and the other from Hiroshima. But they are both round or pizza shaped. There are often debates about which one is better.
