The other day I saw a post about rebutia muscula and as I liked it a lot I had to order a few for my collection, taking advantage that I am in a whatsapp group I decided to order enough so that mine would be free, of the 15 that I ordered I only have two left to sell and this way I can keep three that I show you below.
The sunset was not as good as I expected, the quality of the light was not good but nevertheless we can appreciate the 3 cacti that I kept, obviously I chose the ones that I thought were the best and they already have flower buds.
The best of all is that as I mentioned above, these three cacti have cost me nothing, since with the sale of the others I ordered, I have afforded to add them to my collection, but let's see the unboxing of the delivery.
The box in which the shipment arrived looked small and that scared me a little, although the weight did correspond to the shipment.
Because of how they came packed and since they had traveled about 1000 kilometers to my home, they were a little dirty with the mix that came with them, so I took a small toothbrush and started cleaning each of the cacti.
I even received a small gift as a bonus, thank you seller!
After making the selection this is how I left the decoration in the pot in which I put them, I put it in the garden under the shade net to see how it will look and take pictures, as the substrate was too dry I added only a little water, I know that when transplanting we should not add water, but I was very careful to avoid damaging the root, plus I only removed the excess of substrate that they brought, I have done it this way before, so there should be no problems.
My niece's father asked me to make a pot for my niece too, I put three cactus in it too that will already have flower buds, but in her pot I used a smaller one so they would look more close together, besides the fact that her space is much smaller than my garden, hopefully in a few days we will have flowers to show you in a new post.
There you go 😃🤗🌵💚
I can't resist it!
Rebutias are lovely! You are very lucky your plants survived packed like that, I would be scared to buy from someone who sent plants that way. The best sellers take the plants out of the soil a few days before shipping and let them dry out a little then either put them carefully in layers of shredded paper or wrap them in tissue like kitchen paper and carefully pad the box with newspaper. Paper absorbs moisture and prevents rotting whereas plastic wrapping will promote it, especially if plants are bumped, which is likely when they are packed in pots
You are absolutely right, luckily I already started looking for other options and I have found some good ones, especially I am liking the idea of buying seeds of different species, as soon as I decide to place an order I will show you how they arrived at my home.
I wish someone will also give me that kind of cactus for free (^_^), good afternoon!
It was almost free, but the investment in the cactus was more than 20 dollars.
