RE: Blooming cactus - Notocactus mueller-melchersii

in Succulent growers3 years ago

Owwww, so it was sunny so they could open today? How nice the flowers are, and if you say that the flower smells nice, that is a real blessing of cacti ! I hope after some 3 years I will post here the flowers of its cousin, that moved to the other side of the Iberian peninsula. :)

I noticed that Notocatus is often called Parodia. Why? I have no idea.

No, those who say it is Parodia just dont know how many other names this cacti got also in your post... Elmo, Snowball, Frog, Raffaello cactus, fluffy buds for Gremlins... fluffy bunny tails cacti...small nests cacti...

There is a chance that yours will bloom sooner. They are already 3 years old. Maybe not next year yet... but who knows :)
They did not open fully. They can be almost flat open on a good day. But I didn't want to wait longer. Still pretty :))

Hahah they better not know... :p

Oh, 3 years old? :) Oh my, as I called them babies, I was not aware of that. When babies, they are pea sized, I remember now.

So, maybe sooner, maybe never, who knows :D

Hahah they better not know... :p

🤣

They will always be my babies :P

Shared parenting over the Elmo baby cacti 💚😁

Lucky kiddos have two mommies :D
