Warning, mortals and crypto geeks!
I was able to defend myself against a hacking attack on my computer, the main targets were my cryptocurrency and NFT wallets. It was an attempted live attack, the attacker pretended to be the employer and offered me an job via the communicator, after the conversation and receiving the file with the supposed graphic design it was a 3mb .rar file, after unpacking 300mb, I clicked it and quickly realized what's happening and manually turned off all wireless connections and network (IBM), still talking to him on the smartphone from another IP. I asked if he wanted to rob me and that I am a hacker myself, and it will not be easy for him to rob me, he blocked me and delete FB account. I think that my computer was not infected, but as above, thanks to my quick reaction and manual ability to disconnect all network connections, I managed to thwart the takeover and I disconnected the transfer by interrupting the connection, he wanted to overlay my screen and rob me in real time, because he wanted to pay me in cryptocurrency, so I would have to log into my account then it would be robbed from me. The laptop left for a well-deserved format, scan, review and installation of a new system. On the laptop I keep the system and graphics programs and current projects on my head, and I have all important files and archives on external drives, I recommend this solution in the event of an attack. And also a cold wallet for cryptocurrencie's and NFT. In the next post, I will describe other attempts to hijack my crypto data and wallets.
